Day 7 – Double Wide Cabana Day!

Castaway Cay! Woohoo!

Because the forecast was so bad, I jumped up right away to open the curtains. It actually wasn’t bad! A little overcast, but no rain at this point!

Yay! Castaway Cay weather was smiling on us again!

We ordered room service for breakfast. Flat Stephen liked room service:

I didn’t take pictures of my Remy chocolates last night, here they are:

Here’s the platinum Castaway Club gift I usually get, a box of chocolate truffles!

Heather was running the 5k today, so she left. I found Kelly and we got off. Everyone else was sleeping! I guess they needed it!

I knew Kelly was getting off as early as possible like me! We don’t waste cabana time!

I like getting off with Kelly because she never complains when I stop to take pictures. That is not always the case with some people I travel with * cough * family * cough *.

We passed Olaf’s Summertime Freeze.

I had to take a picture of Olaf cups!

We also passed this structure being built about half way down the cabanas. We were hoping it was a bathroom – and it was! Yay!

This was the leadership of the Orlando Magic! Chase would have been so excited!

And here we are! The doublewide!

Well thank you, Cabana 21.

Oh my word, it was monstrous.

Look at our beautiful beach!

Seriously, monstrous!

I loved having a real table!

Our deck was huge!

Sun! We see sun!!

Yep, I could look at this view all day.

Renita was the first to arrive, although I think she’d already been there and left! No one else came for a looooong time! Kelly and I were like – you people are wasting time!! Lol

Kelly and I got in the water and floated for a long time. While we were floating, we happened to notice the lifeguard on the sandbar.

Oh my word.

Kelly debated faking drowning. That’s all I’ll say about that. 😊

We came back in after a while and pulled some chairs into the water. I was trying to recreate a hammock picture I had seen at Sandals, so I took a gazillion hammock pictures of all things!

More Ladies of Leisure! Hello, ladies!

I couldn’t stop taking pictures.

Flat Stephen chilled in the hammock. He didn’t like to get his uniform wet.

Here’s our window view:

Neighbors:

Lunch time! My word I love Castaway lunch!

We went out floating again after lunch. While we were floating, Anita said she felt something squishy. We figured seaweed. Then someone else looked and said it was a jellyfish!

We looked down and they were everywhere! As you can imagine we all screamed like little girls. I’m sure people on the shore thought we were dying.

Most of us were in the water and just hanging on to the mats with our arms. Well you have never seen people get up on their mats so fast. We paddled back to shore with the bare minimum of body parts in the water. I’m talking fingers only. It was seriously funny. But we made it!

No one was stung and we never saw another jelly! 🙂

We did spend most of the rest of the day right here: Happy as clams I may add.

We were determined to recreate some past Lol pictures, so we started working on that.

Ashley came to check on us!

Happy happy!

This was the view beside and behind our cabana:

Oh yes, we also had ice cream!

More hammock pictures. And look at this awesome hammock brand:

And now it was time for “THE” picture. With the ladies that were left!

Ashley took this one because I’m in it!

Hammock toes!

Empty chairs. The day is done. Sadness.

I forgot whose cute bag this was!

They picked us up in a golf cart. When we got to the tram stop, Kris and I decided to walk and do a little shopping! You can see how empty the island is at this point.

We’re back!

When we got back, Goofy was hosting a reception in the concierge lounge!

I was starving and got a sandwich!

Siobhan’s sweet note:

We had some awesome gifts in our room.

I literally screamed “No way!” when I saw this one!

We had a note reminding us about Fireworks tonight.

Goodbye, you beautiful thing!

Heather went to the show with some of the girls so I packed a little and watched Aloha. Boy that movie was bad.

I was still hungry so I ordered some chicken fingers from room service! Pre dinner dinner with Flat Stephen!

Regular dinner at Animator’s Palate was next! Flat Stephen helped me pick.

Pasta truffles!

The show was happening, but we were pretty involved in conversation so we didn’t hear much.

My pasta!

My dessert:

Of course, flat Stephen had ice cream – his favorite:

Hello, other table!

Fireworks were delayed until tonight because of winds, so we dropped some stuff off in our room and then we went to watch them.

Look at our adorable towel animal!!

After that, we went to see Taylor Mason, the ventriloquist/comedian in the adult show. We were pretty close to the front (always a bad choice in comedy shows) but I was at the back of all the girls, so I felt pretty safe. Wrong!!

About 5 minutes in he started talking to our group. The second question was, “Who’s in charge?” Every hand pointed at me. Oh no.

I was the object of way too much attention after that.  He asked what kind of car I drive, and I became Honda Pilot lady.

After the show ended, Heather and I took more pictures!

One day I will bring my tripod and actually use it.

Then we put on our DCL slippers and chilled one last time in our bed.
