Day 1 – Travel and Beach Club

Yes, this was three days before the cruise started! I knew I was coming in one day early because I never fly in the day of the cruise! We decided it would be awesome to chip in and rent a bungalow! Well then we decided it would be even awesomer to get it for two nights and really enjoy it. And hey, if we really want to maximize every second of the bungalow, we should probably come the day before that.

See what we did there?  🙂

So Kelly, Sherry, Mukta, and I booked a room at Beach Club! Mukta always red-eyes it from California, so she was there insanely early. Kelly and Sherry got there around noon, I think. I can’t get there that early from Colorado so I was jealous.

I left around 8, but I was wide awake at 4 am! Way too excited to sleep.

We were delayed out of Colorado Springs, so when I landed in Denver, it was 21 minutes before my flight and it was 70 gates away! Oh my word!

I didn’t get off until about 10 minutes later and then had to wait 5 minutes for my carry-on bag that they made me surrender. I grabbed it and took off.

Wow was I was huffing and puffing when I got there, but they held the plane and I made it!

This is my traditional traveling to Disney sustenance:

This was my reward for running all the way – no one is beside me!!! Whaaaa?

I was so happy when I landed! I hate it when I’m missing the fun!

Hello, Mickey!

Finally broke out my real camera for a pic of my favorite Magic Band:

Kelly and Sherry were around when I got to Beach Club and of course we were all so excited it was finally starting!

I thought the new rooms at Beach Club looked awesome.

Here’s a phone pic of the shower curtain. Love it!

I’ve stayed at Beach Club several times and actually never had this view!

We hung out in the room for a little while, then walked out to meet up with Jenell and Suzanne outside of Hurricane Hanna’s.

They walked up, we hugged and then we walked to the ticket booths so I could activate a military ticket.

I was silly and forgot to put shorts in my carry-on, so I was pretty toasty walking around in jeans!

Then we said goodbye and walked back. Jenell and Suzanne were off to Night of Joy.

It wasn’t quite time for our dinner reservation at Beaches and Cream, so we walked over to Yacht Club and shopped. Then we sat in the lobby until it was time!

We met Mukta out front!

Mukta has stayed at Beach Club a bazillion times and has never eaten at Beaches and Cream! It was time to correct that.

Hello Kelly, Mukta and Sherry!

Sherry had a Rueben:

I was very sad they didn’t have the open face pot roast sandwich anymore, but my turkey sandwich was pretty tasty.

The table next to us got the Kitchen Sink! They spent a good 5 minutes taking pictures.

The ladies split a No Way Jose and I just got some chocolate ice cream.

Mine looks sad, but it was yummy!

Here we all are!

After we stuffed ourselves, Mukta was off to the parks (she takes her park time seriously) and the rest of us put on swimsuits and headed to Storm Along Bay.

So, it’s impossible to ride the slide without getting your hair wet. Just FYI.

The whole area was pretty empty so we floated around the Lazy River over and over again before ending the night in the hot tub.

When we got back, Mukta was there and we all talked for a while before finally falling asleep!

Bungalow tomorrow!
