Day 6 – Sandals in Nassau

Today I didn’t wake up until 7:30! Woohoo!

Good morning, Atlantis!

We had so many Fish Extender presents! Beaver Bites from Buc-ee’s from Kelly!

Candle from Siobhan!

Candy from Jen!

Candles (not candy!!) from Jenell and a necklace from Amber!

Lollipop from Mukta!

We were making out like bandits!

When I went to the lounge for breakfast, the only other person in there was someone that looked like Karl Holz sitting and eating. I smiled and said hi and got my food.

A few minutes later, when he stood up and put on his glasses, I was like “OH MY WORD THAT’S KARL HOLZ!”

Heather arrived, looked and confirmed and she, Kelly and I had a minor freak out. He stood at the desk talking to someone for a few minutes. I was about to run and get Mukta when she walked in and we told her too. None of us had the nerve to go talk to him, so we took pictures of us eating breakfast in the same room.

This will forever more be known as the time we had breakfast with Karl Holz.

I had fruit loops. With Karl Holz.

I talked to Danny afterwards and he said he wasn’t sure when he got onboard. I told Danny to tell Karl the next time he saw him if he needed a place to eat tonight, we were there for him.

Back in the room. Hello Carnival!

Some of us were going to Sandals for the day! We met downstairs in the lobby and caught a taxi. We’re off!

We’re here!

We got all checked in and made our way to the pool!

Kris and Kelly!

Pool!

Flat Stephen is happy!

Kelly had the right idea:

I walked around a little.

When I got back more ladies joined Kelly!

Pool time!

Time to take advantage of “All Inclusive” aspect!

If you happen to be a teetotaler like us and are wondering about the bars, I loved it! I swam up, requested something fruity with no alcohol and got something different and yummy every time.

Amber wandered over to see if the jet skis were part of Sandals water sports (they aren’t at this one) and when she came back, she told us the other pool was hopping. So we went that way!

Ladies of Leisure indeed!

We had a resort tour at 1, so we wanted to make it over to the island before we had to meet up for that. We walked over to the dock.

Looking back:

We timed the boat perfectly. The skies opened while we were on it and cleared by the time we got to the island!

Looks pretty!

We walked right by the restaurant on accident. This was it and we came back:

It was open air which was nice.

Our waiter carried everything over on his head. He was quite proud of himself!

I had pork sliders which were very good. The French fries tasted like they walked out of a McDonalds. Which was not a bad thing for me!

This was Sherry’s fish I think?

Flat Stephen ate with us of course:

Our waiter was pretty funny!

This was dessert, I forgot what it was!

My dessert:

After we ate, we explored some more.

Amber and Sherry were quite happy in these hammocks:

Some of us had to get back for the tour so we all went back over.

Most of the ladies parked themselves in the pool while we toured!

There are many, many room types at Sandals and we saw a few.

A lounge:

The lobby to one of the buildings was gorgeous:

One of the suites!

Water sports:

These were the swim out rooms which were awesome. There was a couple in the pool, so I didn’t want to get too close to take a pic.

Two restaurants.

Kelly, Heather, Jenell and Suz went back after the tour and I went to the pool with the other ladies for a while.

After we had our fill, we went and called a cab. The cab driver gave us grief about our swimsuits being wet. He was ridiculous. Then once we were all in, he tried to chat us up and be friendly.

Um. You already forfeited a nice tip when you were rude to us.

We’re back!

Mukta left a Coke Zero outside my door! Isn’t she thoughtful?

Flat Stephen needed a snack:

Ashley brought us a concierge gift which I loved!

Carnival left before us:

Pretty soon it was time to shower and put on our costumes!

Disney had unfortunately scheduled the Halloween party and pirate night on the same night!! We were so sad!

So, we did costume pictures in the afternoon and then several people changed into pirate gear. We all met in the atrium. We searched for someone to take our pictures. One person took probably the worst picture I’ve ever seen on my cell phone and I can’t find it!! It was so bad! Like half of us were cut off, we were blurry, so bad! But thank you for trying!

Look how cute we are!! I should have taken close ups of everyone’s costumes, because they were creative!

We went outside for better light. Moving!

We found two hilarious cast members who took our pictures.

Princess wave!

No idea what our instructions were here. Caption this?

We walked around for a little while afterwards and rebooked onboard, did some other things. Then it was time for Remy! After we changed of course.

It was just Amber, Mukta, Jenell and I. I was so excited at our table location in the wine room!

Flat Stephen snuck into Remy!

I thought for sure I took a picture of all of us, but maybe I didn’t!

My non-alcoholic version of the complementary drink:

I’m a super picky eater and I usually do Remy just for the experience, not the food. Tonight I felt bad because every time I didn’t eat something, our server was just sure I hated it and wanted to make me something else!

This, however, is the best thing at Remy. It’s so genius. It’s a crouton infused with tomato soup! You have to eat it all in one bite, if you bit into it tomato soup will explode! Hot tomato soup! No Bueno.

Soup:

Shrimp:

So many courses!

The cheese cart.

Here’s mine! Which I’m pretty sure I didn’t eat, but moved around artfully.

Dessert!

After dinner we went back to the room to change again! Flat Stephen got ready for pirate night!

We changed back into our costumes and were off to the Evolution for the costume contest. There were some great ones. Esmerelda is apparently a big YouTube personality who Heather recognized. She was spectacular:

We got second place! First losers again! We cannot win this thing to save our lives! But we were cute and we had fun.

It was very late after that so we went back to the room and to bed! Flat Stephen went to bed with my rose from Remy:

We didn’t watch Pitch Perfect 2, but we did lay in bed and watched the horrific forecast for Castaway Cay the next day. Heather said she refused to change the channel until it got better, so we watched it for like 10 minutes. Didn’t get better.

I wasn’t too worried, I’ve had bad forecasts at Castaway up until 10 minutes before we got off the ship and still had great weather. So fingers crossed!!
