Day 8 – Grand Bahamas
Today was a new port for me and our last day! Freeport!
We woke up at 7:30.
Overcast again! Dang it, Joan!
We went to breakfast:
Then wandered a little.
We’re off!
We shopped a little in their straw market. We were the first cruise ship back, and they were so happy we were there. We felt like we needed to spend as much money as we could. We bought some things and promised to come back later for others.
Then it was time to line up for our excursion. The process was pretty bad, and we ended up standing on the hot pavement for about 45 minutes. Some people around us gave up and went back to the ship.
We also heard some people that had left on an earlier bus had already gotten to the beach and come back because they weren’t happy. They were on the All-Inclusive version of the excursion, and didn’t feel it was as advertised. We only had a beach pass, so we stuck it out.
We’re here!
We passed the bar.
And found a chair! It wasn’t bad!
I went in search of a Diet Coke at one point, and found it. Then we just relaxed.
We did walk for a little while too.
The sun came out for a few minutes!
Then it was time to head back!
When we got off the bus, we kept our promise and went and bought a few random souvenirs! Then we got back on and showered.
We also packed, and then went to take our mandatory Covid test to reenter the U.S..
Man I hate Covid tests. We didn’t get our results for a while, in fact, I had to go check on mine, but I figured they would have found me if it was bad. Ha!
We passed!
Then we went to dinner.
I had fish and chips!
Then we said goodbye to our excellent dining team, and went to find – Switched On Band Whoo!
We saw several of our new friends there, and we all enjoyed our last night onboard.
We said goodnight around 11, and drifted off for one last glorious sleep onboard. I sleep so well on cruises!
It was a great cruise! We felt safe, and thought the Covid measures they took onboard were appropriate. There were no positive cases on our cruise. These certificates were a nice touch!
Cruising is back! And I couldn’t be happier!
