Day 7 – Segways in Bergen

Today we were in Bergen!

We had Segways planned for the afternoon! We love Segways. It was going to be a rainy day, so we wanted to get off and enjoy the town in the morning.

We started with breakfast at Cabanas!

Dole Whips onboard!

And we’re off!

I decided if we came back to Bergen, we would need to stay at this Radisson! Great location.

There were lots of cute little shops.

Our first stop was Starbucks! Before they sold out of the mugs!

We eventually walked back to the ship for lunch and to get my parents.

It was Segway time!

Here’s The Pnuemonia testing it out.

I put my camera in the case on the front of the Segway for most of the time. I only got it out once at the end. But I did take lots of phone pics!

We were on the crowded streets going in and out, but it’s amazing how easy it still was to navigate. You can turn a Segway on a dime.

We paused here to rest and take some pictures. I forgot what we were looking at! When we stopped, The Pneumonia forgot you are supposed to step off the back of a Segway, and not the side. She stepped off the side and the Segway went crazy. It zipped off while she tried to hang on and she ended up on the ground and the Segway ended up 15 feet away or so. She bruised up her arm, but she was okay! She scared me to death for a minute though.

We paused in this park and it was pouring!

Thankfully the rain started to let up shortly after that.

We rode down some cute little streets.

Here’s the whole group! The Segway guide got my camera out to take a picture. He was a nightclub photographer in the evenings. He loved my camera and approved that I had it in Manual. But he recommended I move it to Av mode. Thanks, Segway dude.

When we were almost back, we stopped in a little park to zip around.

Anyone that wanted to could take turns on a four wheeling Segway and go off-roading.

And then we were back!

Back to the ship!

Dinner was in Animator’s tonight!

Stephen’s freaky alien.

Dad’s!

Food!

Mine is on the left!

We went to a great show after dinner! It was Stars Set Sail, with guest performances by Broadway stars.

When we got back to the room, I was so surprised there was no towel animal on the bed. Then I opened the bathroom door and almost had a heart attack.

My word that was funny though!

Last day onboard tomorrow! Thanks for reading!
