Day 6 – Geiranger but not Geiranger

Today we were sailing up the fjord to Geiranger! We had little tiny cars reserved and we were going to some amazing vistas and the pictures were going to be amazing!!

Until they weren’t.

Going into the fjord would be beautiful in and of itself, and we had planned to wake up around 5 am to be up top and ready.

Luckily before we went to sleep, around 10:30 pm I believe, Clayton came on and announced that we weren’t going to be able to dock in Geiranger! Oh no! So sad. I was really looking forward to it! Those little tiny cars were so cute!

I was not sad to change my alarm clock though…

Clayton said we were still going through the fjord, woot woot, but we’d go later in the morning as we had plenty of time.

We still woke up pretty early, around 6:30 I think. So we went on upstairs! Where it was already gorgeous of course.

We took a lap. Here’s the aft:

The ship was empty!

There were some breakfast treats on deck!

We would pass many falls today!

We got some chairs and sat!

And then they told us we had to move. It was a designated viewing area! Okay, new seats!

After a few minutes I walked up front again.

While I was up there I ran into Tom and stopped to talk. A few minutes later Sarah joined us. They were both sad we didn’t make it to Geiranger too.

They said that was the day they were most looking forward to. But we were all very glad we still got to sail the fjord!

I also may have told them the phone story. And I may have laughed some more.

Today was just gorgeous.

My husband. Taking pictures on his iPad. Because you know, no phone.

My husband’s face as I laughed.

After a while we reached the famous waterfall The Seven Sisters.

Off in the distance you can see a Holland America ship. Look at how small it looks compared to the giant cliffs next to us!

I loved these little villages:

We turned around, and after spending several hours on deck, we decided it was time to go. As we were getting up, they told us we were passing the Seven Sisters on the other side so we went over there.

Rainbow!

Couldn’t stop taking pictures, clearly.

We decided it was a great day for a swim! We went down to change:

While we were in the hot tub we saw Norwegian Mickey!! Ack!! I had no camera with me!

And now Minnie! Killing me.

After we got out, we rested for a little while.

Stephen sent out some laundry, here’s how it comes back:

Then we went back up top for a while.

Selfie! See, he still likes me despite the laughing.

After relaxing a little while, it was time for dinner!

After dinner it was time for the Snuggly Duckling!

We played Thugo.

Always a good time!  Towel animal!
