Day 4 – Boarding Day

We decided that rather than deal with all of our suitcases on the Tube, we would have a transfer company pick us up and take us to the train station.  Our train was at 8:30 and we were only 10-15 minutes away.  They wanted to pick us up at 6:30.  Whaaa?  That was crazy.  So I told them 7 would be good with us.

I woke up at 5!  Goodness.  I finally rolled out of bed at 6 though.  I checked on the girls and they were up and getting ready.

We met down in the lobby.

Our driver didn’t quite know where we were going. He heard train and was sure we were taking the Chunnel to Paris. I tried to explain that’s not where we were going, but he didn’t understand.

When he dropped us off, I knew we weren’t in quite the right place, but I could also tell we weren’t too far away. We walked our suitcases to the correct place!

We found where we needed to be and took the elevator up to the train platforms.

We sat down and then took turns going to get food.

When we finished eating, a worker came by and yelled at everyone on our floor that we were not supposed to be there.

Ummm. Tell that to the elevator?

So we went back down and he literally opened the escalators about 5 minutes later. Not very nice!

We tried unsuccessfully to find somewhere to throw away our trash. We went in Starbucks, restaurants, everywhere! Where were the bins?

We were told by the workers when we asked that they weren’t allowed to have bins. We realized it was a safety thing. It’s sad that it has to come to that!

We went back up! And then our train came! Yay!

We are on!

And all our luggage!

We relaxed, caught up with Jeb, and enjoyed the country side.

Our line was under construction so we had to get off and take a bus the last 20 minutes. When the train stopped, it seemed like everyone that got off was looking for the way to the Magic! It was too funny!

We had to go downstairs and under the tracks over to the busses. Our bags were manageable, but we saw some poor people who couldn’t get theirs down the stairs. Stephen helped them and we all figured out where to go together. We got on the double decker bus.

We heard the driver debate taking us right to the port and we were so excited! But he didn’t, he took us to the train station in Dover.

From here we caught a cab to our ship! We used so many forms of transportation today! Car – train – bus – cab – ship. Lol!

There was that beautiful sight!

We checked in and Dad and Mom got in the upgrade line. We were already in a verandah and weren’t paying for concierge, so we went in and sat down to wait.

Found Mickey!!

Dad and Mom were successful in getting an upgrade! Yay! Boarding began around noon.

We had lunch in Carioca’s.

The girls decided to go see Star Wars right after lunch! We walked around until the rooms were almost ready.

Empty drink station:

Checking out the White Cliffs of Dover.

We sat in Cove Café for a little while. I wanted to try a dessert!

We also went to Deck 4 to check the view.

Apparently, I went right through the room and to the verandah without taking pictures!

Whoops! According to my notes here, we turned on the TV and watched Guardians of Galaxy and then took some naps!

Then it was time to muster! Muster selfie:

Time for the sailaway!

We got buttons!

We did not sail on time! We waited a while, and then finally gave up and went to dinner!

Dinner was in Lumiere’s tonight. There were regional items on every menu which was neat!

My go to dessert!

We got a magic trick every night!

We were so far North that it was light so late every night! It was great for pictures!

We shopped for a little while. I only had my phone for pictures at that point.

We ended the night in the hot tub watching Ratatouille.

Oh and maybe pizza.

When we got back to the room, we did watch Everest for a little while before we were gently rocked to sleep. My favorite way to sleep.
