Day 11 – Liverpool
Good morning, Liverpool!!
Today the germ alert must have been high, the servers were at every station serving breakfast in Cabanas. It’s embarrassing to ask for half a plate of breakfast potatoes, to today I had a normal sized portion.
We walked around a little up top and took pictures.
It was early, so the crowds weren’t out yet!
While we were up there, the girls declared Storybook Destinations must be on SnapChat! When I told them we were, we just didn’t use it, they were very excited! So they were my Snapchatters all day. #thankyouJeb
And then we were off!
We had hop on hop off tickets today. Our plan was to catch the bus to the Cathedral and stay for Sunday morning services. We stopped to take this picture on my phone:
And then missed the bus. Whoops! But we caught the next one. On the bus:
This is Matthews street where the Beatles played on numerous occasions:
Southern Soul Food!
And Five Guys!
There it is!
We got off and went to see if we could still get in.
We could! Yay!
A couple of the deacons saw my camera and asked that I didn’t take any pictures during the service. No problem. It was a very nice service and a neat experience.
We walked around for a little while after and took pictures.
After we left, we decided to complete the circuit on the Hop On/Off bus and have lunch on the ship.
Back on the bus!
And we’re off! The crowds were growing! Liverpool had planned quite the celebration!
This was adorable:
The crowds lined the water and cheered and waved! It was fun!
We ate and got back off! Here’s my lunch!
And dessert. I am not good at self serve.
Erin has spirit!
Only cruisers could get inside these gates. We saw several people asking to get in to see the ship. I didn’t blame them!
There was quite a line for this picture now! I’m glad we did it earlier!
We’re back on the bus!
We got off at the giant mall.
We stopped in one of the soccer (football!) stores to get a souvenir for Chase.
We bought Chase a shirt in the Everton store. These were the stairs:
We also found the Disney store of course. No exciting local merchandise though.
We shopped for a while and then it started to rain. I loved these signs:
Coming soon!
Dad and Mom decided to go back to the ship and we walked to Matthew Street. We couldn’t pass this up!
We walked around a little while longer and then we headed back to the ship ourselves.
Frozen was playing down by the pier!
There all kinds of activities, even segways!
We went back to the room for a little while and then got ready for dinner in Animators. The girls and The Pneumonia entertained themselves again.
Dinner!
I changed up the Mickey bar tonight.
After dinner we went to see the Irish singers and dancers again.
Afterwards it was time for our close, personal friends, The Liverpool Legends! Emojis for Beatles –
They were a massive hit. They were awesome and did two encores.
We went to deck 4 to see what was happening. The Liverpudlians were out in force!
It was getting darker, so that meant it was almost time for the fireworks show that Liverpool had planned!
We went to Dad and Mom’s to watch from their side. The ship pulled away and turned around for the show. The Pneumonia was so happy we brought Jeb.
The girls ordered their nightly cheese platter while we waited. Here we go!
Well that was just awesome! We loved it! Judging from the cheers from both the ship and shore, I think everyone did!
Finally it was bedtime! It was a late night!
