Day 9 – Castaway, Baby!
I woke up and jumped out of bed to this beautiful sight!
We made it!!
Big sigh of relief.
We ate at Cabanas and then stepped off into paradise. Which was decorated for Christmas!
The wind kept blowing my camera strap into the picture, lol.
We staked out our chairs and did nothing.
Here’s where we were:
The kids had lots of energy and went to play soccer:
They came back with ice cream I’m pretty sure. As did I.
My brother-in-law decided my niece should accompany he and my nephew to Pelican Plunge. Whether she wanted to or not!
The rest of us did this.
And then it was time to eat!
I love lunch on Castaway Cay. I just love it! It’s not even the food quality as much as the whole convenience of it, the atmosphere, the smell of burgers on the grill – I love it!
My niece was cold in the shade.
And this is how you do ice cream. I believe this started with Missy. Ice cream genius that she is.
Then we went back to relaxing.
And a little picture taking.
We decided a family (or most of it) bike trip was in order next.
Made it to the tower!
Picture break!
They are so cute.
Yep. I can take pictures while riding. Mad skillz.
Construction!
And back to the chairs.
Next some of us decided to go kayaking. I took Chase’s GoPro for this!! But he never sent me the pictures…
Although to be fair, I barely knew what I was doing without a viewfinder so I may have taken only pictures of the sky, half my face, the kayak, who knows?! But it was fun.
There was a strong current and one of the lifeguards ended up towing my nephew and his kayak back on a jet ski. I don’t think he minded.
When we got back some of the boys had gone to play foosball. After a great day it was finally time to start walking back. Sadness.
I told everyone else to go ahead so I could walk back slowly and take pictures.
I went up top to get a coke and then I took a shower before dinner. Back in Lumiere’s!
Potatoes and cheese. Nothing wrong with that.
Chase and his smoothie.
Baked potato soup!
Don’t make faces at a woman with a camera.
Stephen, true to form, had fish.
Somebody had chicken!
I had beef wellington.
I wanted hot chocolate after dinner like every night and forgot to order it every time! I remembered tonight.
And a dessert!
I had baked Alaska! I will never understand how they make this.
Okay, okay, I also had a Mickey bar! Hey, it was the last night!
When the servers disappeared and the music started, we knew what was coming!! Napkin waving!!!
The funny thing is, we were the only ones waving our napkins! We were getting some strange looks, lol. Until the announcer came on and told everyone to pick up their napkins and start waving them! We were so far ahead of everyone else.
After dinner we went straight to the hot tub! Well, after changing.
Then we packed and set our suitcases out. We met my sister and her husband and Stephen’s brother and wife in O’Gills. We won the pub quiz this time!! Woot woot!!
We won some luggage tags and something else. I can’t remember! My camera was in the room. Silly.
When we got back to the room, the cousins were all there! I took a phone picture. Cousin party!
Then it was bedtime. Our wonderful vacation was at an end.
We had a few good years of Thanksgiving cruises! We need to start that tradition back up again, ASAP!
