Day 8 – Palo Brunch Day

We had a pretty smooth night, but we were rocking a little when we woke up. It wasn’t too bad, just there.

Today we had big plans!! Palo brunch! My favorite meal onboard! Woo hoo!!

So today’s update is all about, all about, all about that food. (Maybe resulting in all about that bass).

We’re here!

First ones!

Private room!

Sparkling Cider!

The germ alert must have been back to low because we got to fill our own plates!

I understand why they want the servers to do it when they’re worried about germs, but that’s not my favorite! I want to get my own food without help or possible silent judgment.

So now we descend on the food!

Pizza!!!!!!!!

My warm up plate.

Back to the food.

I have croissants most mornings on a cruise but they ain’t nothing like these.

Nutella muffins!

Why did I not put this on anything? #fail

I have no idea what this is. I don’t remember beef at all!

These look like the ones from Remy!

Stephen got fish:

I got my favorite entrée of all time – Chicken Parmesan!

While we were eating, we saw this hilarious site. Carter spying on us!

We all cracked up. And showed him our plates of delicious food and said, “Nanner nanner.”

We are cruel.

I went back for dessert next, but sadly I was too full and nothing was screaming my name. I may or may not have taken this just because it was adorable.

Don’t worry! It didn’t go to waste. Stephen ate it.

This was my very exciting dessert:

Stephen decided to use the display spoon as a spoon to make my sister laugh.

We walked (rolled) back to the room and changed for the beautiful day ahead.

Stephen and I walked for a little while. Good picture for Where in the World Wednesday!

We went to see a Magician show at some point.

The gingerbread house!

Santa was out!!

We have a tradition in our family that my children must take a picture with Santa every year until they turn 18. Then at Christmas, all the pictures come out! Here was last year’s display for Instagram:

It’s my favorite decoration ever. As you can imagine, the older the kids got, the more complaining I heard. I told them they did not have to see him, but if they didn’t he would not bring them presents.

Seemed to work.

Seeing Santa onboard was perfect for Ally! There was no danger a friend would see her! Perfect.

Erin even stepped in for some pictures.

Wall picture!

After Santa we met the family for some movie trivia. They made us split up and we lost by one! Man! We compared sheets and we would have won if they’d let us stick together. So we were robbed.

I’m not sure what we did the rest of the day! I’m sure a snack was involved.

Then we changed for dinner and met early for pictures! My sister and her family:

Stephen’s brother and family:

Dad and The Pneumonia.

Chase made it into a family picture!

Beautiful girls!

Mine mine mine!

Oops, one picture to many.

Ally took our picture.

We reached too many pictures quickly, apparently.

My beautiful sister (which may be a self-serving comment considering our similarities):

Dinner was in Carioca’s again!

Didn’t everyone look nice? No crazy hats tonight!

Dinner!

My chicken.

Delicious dessert.

Ooh, even better!

We went to see John Charles in the family show after dinner, he’s always entertaining.

Then we shopped and caught the show in the Walt Disney Theater. At the end of the show, Brent did not seem overly optimistic about Castaway Cay the next day! He worried me!

We went to the hot tub next and sat for about 10 minutes before being kicked out because it was after 10! Oops.

Then we did a bar crawl with brother-in-law and sister-in-law. That basically amounted to Shirley Temples and snacks! But it was fun.

We did learn that if the food isn’t out in the bars you should ask. Whenever we asked they brought us out plates!

Finally, it was bedtime! Castaway Cay tomorrow!
