Day 7 – Thanksgiving at Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Today, was a resort day! Happy Thanksgiving! Unfortunately a phone call woke us up crazy early, but I went back to sleep. Until 8:40! Good grief!

I sat around in my PJ’s for quite a while and it was glorious.

Mom was making a big breakfast for everyone today! I can’t believe I didn’t get a picture of the plate overflowing with 4 lbs of bacon.

Ohana definitely means family when bacon is involved. Everyone came to our villa.

The girls were all on their computers shopping early Black Friday sales. It was pretty funny.

Mom’s favorite thing on Thanksgiving is to cook and watch the Thanksgiving parade. So that’s what she did! She made bacon, eggs and toast and I made some pancakes. It was delicious!

There were soooo many animals out today! My wide angle lens makes these look far away, but they were very close.

It was a very relaxing morning.

Some of us decided to go on a resort monorail tour, some went swimming, some did nothing, and some went to Downtown Disney.

Bonnie, Brian and Colby had to go home today for a basketball tournament. We said goodbye to them! We kept Carter and Ellie because there was more fun to be had over the next few days!

We decided to walk to Jambo so Olivia could see it before our monorail tour.

On the way, we stopped in the lobby to wait for Carter who had just got back from swimming.

This doesn’t get old.

On our way we passed the Community Hall and stopped in. It was pretty cool! The boys were immediately drawn to the foosball table.

At some point I heard the words, “We won” and “Yeah, but we are better looking.” So that’s how that went.

There were also crafts to make:

When we got to Jambo, we were in an awkward lunch zone. Dinner wasn’t too far off but we’d had a big breakfast. So we got snacks! Zebra Domes and a Caesar salad is a snack right?

The bus stops at Jambo are quite nice! No screens with waiting times yet, but nice! While we waited, a cast member came over and entertained us with a round of “What’s in the box?”

The bus took quite a while, so it was a good distraction. We rode to Magic Kingdom and walked to the Contemporary first.

Star Wars monorail!

We shopped and walked around. Frozen gingerbread!

Then we monorailed to the Grand Floridian. It was grand as always! And somehow I took no pictures!

Next we monorailed to MK, then we caught a bus back to Kidani.

We walked in with 20 minutes to spare! We changed and headed down to Sanaa.

Sanaa!

Where we waited and waited. We waited a very long time. I told them we would wait to be seated near each other and they said that probably wouldn’t happen. So we were just waiting.

When we got in, we were right next to each other! Okay!

Okay, the bread was amazing. They brought us more and we had sooooo much bread when all was said and done.

Stephen’s I think:

My turkey dinner!

Carter and Ellie had awesome desserts:

After we ate, I had a complete brain squeeze and while we were talking and I was in a rush to get up, I somehow signed the bill and never gave them my credit card. Whoops!!

We walked out to the fire and Scott came to tell me what I did! Oh my word, I did a Dine and Dash at Disney! Good grief!

I ran back in and paid properly.

Then several of us went to the pool.

We camped out in the hot tub. I was relaxing and enjoying the conversation when I heard Erin ask – “Is that a snake?”

ACKKKKKKKKKKKK!!

Snake!!!!!

Okay, it was a tiny snake, but there was a tiny snake on the fence!! It was so horrifying. The boys all tried to get closer and I yelled at them.

Someone went to find a lifeguard while we all stared in disgust as he slithered all over the fence.

Ewwwwwwwww.

The lifeguard came and got it and we got out pretty quick after that.

We went back to the room, said goodbye to everyone that was leaving the next day and packed for our next destination.

At some point I saw Misty’s Facebook Post. Best hashtags ever.

We had such a great time with everyone! Universal for a few days was coming up tomorrow!
