Day 5 – Santorini

 

Santorini!!! I was so excited!!

Today room service gave us a warning call! They didn’t want a robe situation happening again. Ha!

We left the room about 7:30, which was super early, but we were trying to beat the heat!

We tendered over, there’s no wait for a tender when there are only 400 people onboard, by the way.

We took the cable car up. No donkeys for us!

We had made no plans, and quickly realized we weren’t in the part of Santorini we wanted to be in. Not that it wasn’t beautiful!

These doors just blew me away. Doors with a view!

We wandered around for a little while, and then found a driver to take us to the North side of town.

This is it! This is what we were looking for!

We walked and sweated our faces off.

We decided we needed a break from the heat, so we looked for somewhere to eat with a beautiful view. Found it!

We felt much better after that little break!

We walked some more and found the famous picture site with about 400 of our closest friends.

It’s beautiful!

We shopped and bought some gifts and souvenirs. And enjoyed the sporadic air conditioning.

Then we called our driver and walked back to meet him. We took the cable car back down!

The Apex uses the Magic carpet to get on and off the tenders, and it’s so smart!

We went and put on our swimsuits and headed to the solarium. We swam and got in the hot tub and then we simultaneously realized we were absolutely starving. So we went to the buffet!

I had pizza followed by ice cream and M&M’s.

Then when we were walking out, they set up a whole new food station with so many good things! I couldn’t resist a ham sandwich and donut. A winning combination.

Then we sat and talked for a long time. We absolutely love the solarium.

Tonight dinner was in Cypress. We ate late because we didn’t feel like leaving the solarium it was so very nice.

We walked a little before going back to the room.

When we got back to the room, we had wine! This was an apology for Audrey’s troubles.

We didn’t make it to dinner until 8:20! What on earth? This is not how I roll.

But we finally made it.

And we sat down and looked out the window and we had a beautiful view of Santorini all lit up! I tried to go get a picture outside, but it was dark and not easy!  So I failed.

After we finished eating, we went to the show in Eden. It was a singing/dancing/acrobatic type show.

After we left there, it was bedtime! Sea day tomorrow! We could sleep in!
