Day 4 – The Search for a Roommate in Rhodes!

I set an alarm for 8 not knowing what time my body thought it was! But I didn’t need it! I woke up at 7:30, which was great!

I had a message from Audrey that she was at her gate! Woohoo!

I got ready and went up top to watch for her.

Not a bad view again!

I see her!!  She’s wearing black with a straw hat!

I see the nurses going to Covid test her!

They came and got her luggage! And she sat and sat.

I realized I may be able to get closer to her, so I started moving down.

Closer!

Closer!

Then I realized, I can just get off! So I did!

I went and sat under the tent with her, I was so happy to see her!

She had a rough few days. She pulled something getting out of her car on Friday while she was leaving, and could barely move by the time she arrived in Athens. She had to get a doctor to come to her hotel, and she never left her room that whole time! She was feeling a little better, but the doctor told her to stay in bed for a week! Yikes!

She didn’t confess she was going on a cruise. Ha!

They finally came out and told her that her test was invalid so they had to run it twice, but she passed! That’s what took so long. We weren’t too worried since she had another test that morning, a third two days before, and she was fully vaccinated!

We dropped off her carryon and went and got hamburgers!

We are and caught up, and I told her if she didn’t want to walk around Rhodes, I didn’t mind getting off by myself at all! She said she was a little worried, so we decided she should stay so she would be rested by Santorini! We walked to the room.

I got off, with one destination in mind, and then followed the crowd through the city wall instead.

So glad I did! It was so cool inside!

The cobblestone streets were lined with shops and restaurants.

I walked and shopped for an hour or so. I bought some Greek sandals and a straw hat.

The edge of the city was very pretty.

When I came out one side of old town, I was about to turn around when I saw Sephora! Ooh. New shops!

I went there instead, plus a few more places.

Look at this beautiful water!

After a couple of hours, I headed back. I really liked Rhodes! What a neat town!

I went up top for a coke and to give Audrey a little more time to rest in case she was asleep. These ferries were quite large!

When I got up to go to the room, I ran right into her! She was getting in the hot tub, so I went and changed to join her.

Here’s my sandals:

Which, I won’t lie, are the most comfortable pair of sandals I own. I regret not buying more!

After soaking and talking for a couple of hours, we went and got ready for dinner. Sailing away!

Tonight we decided to try Cosmopolitan for dinner. The four main dining rooms served the same food each night, but with one section of exclusives for that restaurant. My word this ship was empty. But it was beautiful in there!

The menu:

I had a Caesar salad:

Oh and a corn soup because the server practically begged me to!

Dinner view:

Fried chicken, because it’s wrong not to:

And chocolate cake! Which I did not take a picture of apparently. So sorry.

After dinner we went to Eden for a show – Night of the Arts. I loved this venue! I immediately vowed to come back in daylight so I could take pictures.

We watched for a little while, and then made our way to the show in the big theater. This was a neat hallway:

It was a singer from Britain’s Got Talent, and he was great!

Then it was bedtime. Santorini tomorrow. Soooo excited!
