Day 3 – Mykonos All by Myself

I woke up at 6:15 for my 7:30 excursion and spent way too long in bed on my phone! When I realized how late it was, I jumped up and in the shower!

And of course, room service came while I was in there. Whoops!  Breakfast!

I rushed to finish getting ready and went down to the theater.

Right before I walked out, my croc flip flops broke! Dang it, Joan!

I hope my sandals were good enough!

We gathered up in our group and we were off to the ferry to Delos! I was going on an excursion by myself. That was a new one!

Mkyonos was our only stop where we had to do an official excursion to get off the ship. So we had booked Best of Mykonos which included a ferry to the uninhabited island of Delos, lunch, and a walk around Mykonos. As far as I could tell, it was my best opportunity for pictures. And let’s be honest, that’s what I was here for!

We walked to the boat.

We’re off!

Hello, beautiful ship!

We all disembarked at Delos and went on a guided tour of the ruins.

Here’s our guide:

It was really neat, but it was hotter than the surface of the sun out there. I said it.

The surface of the sun.

There were cats that the guards take care of!

The arena:

Cats everywhere!

The lions of Delos are somewhat famous.

After a couple of hours, we boarded the ferry back to Mykonos.

For lunch! Woohoo!

I ate at a table with four other people I didn’t know, so I didn’t feel comfortable taking pictures of my food. Ha!

But it was a lovely setting, nice people, and good food!

We were right next to the monastery which we visited next!

Then we went on a guided tour of Mykonos Town. I was sad we couldn’t go in the shops!

I love the streets of Mykonos!

It looks exactly how you think it should!

There was a cute little theater tucked back in there!

We wound through the picturesque streets and took a break at the windmills. I did buy a Coke Zero at some point as well.

Seriously, I don’t remember the last time I sweated so much.

I love Mykonos, and our tour guide was great, but I was not sad to be done and back on the ship with air conditioning and food!

I dropped off my stuff and went right up top for a burger. I guess I wasn’t going to make it to the main dining room tonight either!

Not a bad dinner view though!

Man I should have brought my camera up!

Have I mentioned how much I love that they give me Coke Zero in a can whenever I want? No liter sodas or carrying around a refillable mug (looking at you Royal Caribbean).  I LOVE it!

Then I went downstairs, cleaned up and worked on my photos for a little while. Look how cute!

I also love these bags they gave us. Super helpful!

After I finished, I went up to the solarium and read as we sailed away!

I heard from Audrey! She was supposed to make it by 9 am the next day! After two covid tests. Oy.

And her luggage has never caught up with her. Double Oy.

Fingers crossed!

It was super nice out now.

I went to the bar and got a coke for the next morning, and then I went by the store. Then I crawled into bed and read for a while. I tried to stay awake until 10 to get on a normal sleeping pattern, but I don’t think I made it. Ha! I need Audrey to keep me awake!

Tomorrow hopefully!
