Day 2 – Check-in!

 

We were up at 8:15! My word that was not enough sleep.

Hello, MCO Hyatt!

Bonnie texted that they were here and I was almost ready! We waved at them from the balcony and headed on down.

Our first stop was the food court for donuts and/or Chick-fil-A.

Then we were off to the bus! Bus selfie!

We’re here!

I finally busted out the real camera for this beautiful view.

Our rooms weren’t ready so we dropped off our carry-ons and explored.

We walked over to the pool and chilled.

Carter got the first Mickey shaped food.

I love this!

We started to realize we were going to be in that awkward space of waiting for people to arrive all day long. That meant we couldn’t get much done or really make plans. That was okay! Ohana still meant family today apparently!

We walked over to Jambo to get some lunch.

Ally was quite amused by this.

We saw this little guy on the way!

Jambo’s lobby is just spectacular.

I was getting texts from Scott and he and Stephen’s parents were almost there. We told them to meet us at Jambo in Maura.

I had a turkey sandwich!

In-laws are here!

My parents were on the bus by this point, so they got off at Jambo and came to eat!

We were probably there for two hours waiting for everyone to arrive, eat and catch up. It was fun though!

At some point we got a text that the two bedroom was ready! We walked back over and the in-laws drove their car.

My in-laws and Scott went to their room and we got my parents checked in. The kids took them out to the savannah.

We decided to go check out their two bedroom was not a savannah view, but they ended up having a little savannah right outside! I was impressed!

While we waited I got the text that ours was ready! Woohoo!

At some point Chase texted us and said he and Olivia were on the bus! Yay! He posted this lovely picture in our Facebook group:

Stephen may have been slightly mortified by the length of Chase’s hair. I guess college students don’t have time for haircuts? But no worries! The Pneumonia is a licensed hair dresser, and she would take care of this situation later in the week!

When he got there, we made the 10 minute (literally) walk to the lobby to greet them! Yay!

Stuart and family were the last to arrive and we went to see them in the lobby too!

They brought us some sodas to stock up and made a grocery delivery to our room.

We also got our delivery from Garden Grocer, so we were stocked up!

After everyone had a little while to settle, we headed to Disney Springs for dinner! I left my camera in the room! Ack! Scandalous.

We debated where to eat for a little while but we ended up at my favorite – Earl of Sandwich!

I will forever be bitter that they took away the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich, but the Earl was not bad!

After eating we walked over to Once Upon a Toy:

We built a droid.

Someone got Ghirardelli!

We walked all the way down so everyone could see the new areas, and then all the way back! We lost some along the way who went back to go to bed, or to the store for milk, etc.

When we were walking to the bus we saw one was at our stop so I said, “There it is!” Dodged around the family in front of us and jogged a little.

I heard an angry voice, but didn’t figure it was directed at me, so I kept going. Apparently it was. The dad yelled that I almost ran over his kid.

I absolutely didn’t.

Misty heard him and stopped and looked right at him and said, “She wasn’t anywhere near your kid.”

He stammered and stuttered a little and looked away.

Misty had my back!

We were exhausted when we got back and had an early day tomorrow! We knew we needed to be there at rope drop to cope with Thanksgiving crowds.

Epcot tomorrow!
