Day 1 – Arrival
It was finally time! I feel like we’d been waiting for this trip for so long!
A couple of weeks before we left, Bonnie called me to see how much Ohana was going to cost. She didn’t want to spend a fortune and there were five of them. Brian had heard that day at work how amazing it was (why didn’t they trust me?) and really wanted to go. He suggested leaving the kids in the room to save some money.
Bonnie asked him if he remembered that Ohana literally meant family?
Oh snap!
My trip report title all started from there! We all agreed that Ohana/family was very important. Unless say you were paying $250 for a meal.
We found quite a few exceptions to that rule during the week!
This was one of those trips that kept getting longer and longer. Everyone had different dates that worked for them, and we were all coming at different times. Stephen was meeting Ally and I there after a DC trip and Ally and I decided we might as well leave Friday! We couldn’t get in until 11:30 pm, but we went with it. It’s worth a lot to me to be the first one at Disney!
We booked a room at the Hyatt and made it our goal to be awake in time to catch DME with Bonnie and family who arrived at 9 am on Saturday.
We drove to Denver and were delayed. Yuck!
We’re going to Orlando! Woot!
We chilled in the USO in Denver while we waited for our delayed flight.
We finally boarded and made it in around 2:30.
There was no one in the airport!
Stephen got in at 8 and was sound asleep. We put on our pjs, plugged in our devices and got to sleep around 3.
Everyone else comes tomorrow!
