Day 6 – Universal and Ft. Wilderness Cabins
We were up crazy early today to see as much as we could at Universal! So that started with Extra Magic Hours, oops I mean Early Entry!
I actually chose the short line this time! Very. Unusual.
We’re all in!
Off to Hogwarts!
We went right to Forbidden Journey. I don’t actually ride Forbidden Journey anymore. Nope nope. It’s an excellent ride and I’ve done it twice, but it makes me sick as a dog! I do enjoy the queue though!
A few of us waited at the ride exit.
We’re out!
When we came out, there were wedding pictures happening!
We headed for Hogwarts Express next!
Diagon Alley is amazing. I could stand there all day and listen to how excited people are when they see the dragon.
Dragon!
We all rode Gringotts next. I love Gringotts!
When we sat down, I took out my camera for a selfie of all of us!
And then I got yelled at! Whoops! Totally spaced that I shouldn’t take out my phone, even before we started moving!
We stopped for ice cream next. Man, this is a bad phone pic. I should be banned from phone pics.
And we explored!
Everything stops when the dragon breathes fire.
We wanted to try the new Jimmy Fallon ride, so we were off that way!
I popped into Starbucks for a Universal mug on the way!
I think we may have stopped for the Mummy on the way. Where I unintentionally led some agents astray as they were deciding whether or not to ride.
In my memory, it was similar to Gringotts which we had all just done! I said it was not a high-speed roller coaster. We got on and Amanda sat next to me and whispered – “I would describe this as a high-speed roller coaster!”
Whoops!!
I screamed warnings and apologies and we were off!
On the high-speed roller coaster.
I apologized about 100 more times after we got off. I apologize again! Ha!
Then it was time for Jimmy!
So, Jimmy Fallon was good, but it was a giant simulator ride. A few of us don’t do well with simulators and needed a break from rides after that!
We passed by minions, which I do really like, and started out of the park to get some food!
We were going to Toothsome! So excited!
Look!
We beat the crowd thankfully, and were seated right away!
I was here because of the desserts, but the menu was quite impressive! I had philly cheesesteak wraps and they were amazing! I loved them!
Amanda had loaded tater tots which were awesome too:
I was stuffed, but there was no way I wasn’t getting one of these!
Totally worth every calorie. We rolled ourselves out of there and headed to some resorts to tour!
Our first resort was Cabana Bay, so we caught the bus!
Cabana Bay was so bright and airy! I really liked it!
You can see Volcano Bay in the distance!
Next, we walked over to Sapphire Falls.
I liked it too! We walked back to our resort and split up. Amanda and I really wanted to ride Kong before we left, and Cameron wanted to ride Jurassic Park. So we told everyone else we’d be back and started walking!
Kong!!
King Kong and dinosaurs are some of my favorite things. I was super excited to ride this.
I was also terrified. I had read about the live scare actors in the queue and just the idea of someone jumping out and scaring me made me want to cry. I texted Mukta who reassured me that there were no scare actors in the Express Pass lane, so we went in.
Every time we turned a corner, I was still worried. I think I also scared Amanda! I was not a good queue companion! Ha!
Once we were on, I was mostly better. I spend the first couple of minutes wondering if anyone would jump out at the truck because I was on the end. I finally convinced myself to stop becoming a scaredy cat, and relaxed! And I loved the ride! It was great!
We waited for Cameron to meet us and walked back! It was hotttt.
Everyone else was done with their tours and waiting for us. We piled into our two cars and were off to our next hotel! Ft. Wilderness cabins! We checked in and went to our two cabins.
Heather filmed!
The cabins are super cute! We had a little bit of time, so we decided to go swim. I didn’t take my camera, so no pics! Then we showered and went to dinner at the Wave! Where I also did not take my camera…
Dinner was quite yummy!
Missy got the blue drink. Seven Seas? I am no expert on alcohol names!
I loved mine. Steak with mashed potatoes AND mac and cheese. Perfect!
After dinner we went to the Poly to watch Wishes. We were cutting it a little close and the monorail stopped at the TTC for a while. We looked at each other and made a split-second call to jump off and walk!
We jumped off – and forgot to tell Cameron! Whoops!
Luckily, he realized we were gone before the monorail left!
We watched Wishes and then went up to Tambu.
Heather and I had a hankering for popcorn, so we went over to Magic Kingdom. Why oh why do they not sell popcorn at the resorts?
Then we went back to the cabins and went to bed! We had an early morning check in the next day at Old Key West before our ship tour!

Posted at 15:22h, 19 JanuaryTammy, I am so impressed you were able to recall all these details in such minutia!!! This was such a fun trip, and I definitely remember when you said it wasn’t a high speed roller coaster, and I definitely remember being very scared of the Kong queue (and then no one ever jumped out at us!)
