Day 6 – Rudesheim and Lahnstein with 30 Castles in Between!

 

We were in Rudesheim until 1:30 today.  When we opened our curtains this morning, we were staring into the dining room of our neighbor ship.  Ack!

This morning we were doing a vineyard hike! Here’s our Daily Cruiser:

We met everyone at breakfast and then got off with our group.

We walked through the town to get to the hiking trail.

This train went back and forth from the ship to town:

There were beautiful vineyards just next to the town!

Up above you could see the skyride. We realized when my parents registered for the Gondola tour, we were all thinking different things. Some of us were thinking gondolas on a canal, some were thinking gondolas on a skyride, and my dad was thinking gondola on a hot air balloon! Ha!

We snuck SD-14 out of the backpack when no one was looking, and took a vineyard picture!

We would be sailing down this way later!

There were goats that lived in the vineyards!

I realized what an amazing picture I could take if our ship sailed by, but that probably wouldn’t have been a good thing.

And then we hiked back down!

We stopped to get a snack!

We’re back!

My parents were saving us seats up top for the day of castle viewing!

Over the next few hours, we would sail by 30 castles. And we had the perfect weather for it!

They had a buffet set up on deck. I had a delicious burger!

Don’t worry, I did not take a picture of every castle!

Or maybe I did, but I will not post them all!

We stayed up top for a few hours! It was a great day!

We made it to Lahnstein at 5:00. Tonight we were going to visit Lahneck Castle! We got off in our group.

Lahnstein was bigger than I expected!

When we got back, it was time for dinner, and then bed!
