Day 4 – Bikes in Strasbourg

We woke up in Strasbourg! We woke up fairly early actually, and I grabbed SD-14 and took him up top for pictures before there were other guests up there!

He played a little chess.

Plus normal pictures too!

As predicted, it was empty!

Here’s our Daily Cruiser:

Today we were doing a bike tour! The ship carries bikes with it that guests can take off and use on their own any time they would like. This was an organized excursion though!

I have decided that one of the most overused and incorrect phrases in the English language is – It’s like riding a bike!” like you never forget how to ride a bike.

That’s a lie. I used to be able to ride with no hands, without the slightest bobble, and certainly
without ever being winded. Clearly my body has forgotten.

I did practice on Stephen’s bike at home a few times and it did not go well. I was exhausted after short trips. And this was not a short trip!

I was so worried I would hold up the group.

I shouldn’t have worried. I was fine. In related news, I have decided that Stephen’s bike is broken.

We are ready!

Matt and Debbie!

I didn’t take my real camera, but we took a couple of phone pictures, and we noted places we wanted to come back to later after we were done.

Selfie at the cathedral!  I don’t know where I’m looking.

Matt biked ahead and took a picture of us at some point.

After we got back, we ate lunch and then showered and headed back into town!

Lunch menu:

I had a hamburger.

Back off!

There were shuttle buses going back and forth all day.

My goal was to find the scene on the front of our Daily Cruiser, which is in an area of Strasbourg known as La Petite France!  An incredibly beautiful area by the way!

This town was just beautiful!

Close, but no cigar!

We loved it!

We found the scene! Unfortunately we did not have the same gorgeous lighting that their picture did, but I was happy we found it!

We even found a quiet street for SD-14!

And I found ice cream. Which was delicious, and I clearly ate some before taking a picture.

Look at these beauties!

Back at the cathedral!

We made it back to the ship in time for dinner (of course) but I apparently didn’t take pictures. We were out in the main dining room where I was even more hesitant to take them!

Then we said goodnight and went to bed! We watched a movie in our room again. Or watched some before we fell asleep!

We left Strasbourg at 11:00 that night. We were sound asleep when that happened!
