Day 4 – Sea Day Again

I slept until 6:30 today!  Ally was snoozing and the room was dark.  I worked for an hour or so, and then fell right back asleep until 9!

Today it was sunny-ish outside.

We headed to Windjammers for breakfast.

We passed Fish and Ships and made a mental note to come back for lunch or dinner at some point.  Well apparently I never checked said mental notes, and we never came back.  Dang it, Joan!

I had a sticky bun and breakfast potatoes!

Missy and Kevin were on a test cruise on Symphony of the Seas while I was on this one, and we all compared what we were doing via pictures:

After breakfast we went to trivia. And almost won this one! We were only off by one!

Then we walked around the ship and took some pictures of SD-14!

We had seen a selfie scavenger hunt on the schedule and decided that sounded fun. So we were in!

We only had 20 minutes to do all of that! When she said go, everyone took off for the elevator. We decided to take the stairs! And ran up 7 stories.

And almost died.

Almost died.

There were several things in our room. One of the items said something like – “Your cabin host leaves something on your bed every night. Put two of them on your head and take a selfie.” We decided it was silly to do a selfie with the paper Compasses on our head, because that was another item on the list as were towels.  So we did those three!

We went up top for North Star pics!

And we found an officer!

We found everything except one painting, which no one found!

We came in 6th, but as everyone in front of us had less than us, we realized we may win!!

Until she disqualified the pillows. What?

She said it was supposed to be something he put on our bed every night. I said he did put pillows there every night. She said it had to be something new. I was like – it doesn’t say that at all! She wasn’t budging.

We were robbed!! Robbed I say! No Royal key chains for us!

We went down to grab pizza for lunch, and then we chilled in the solarium for a while.

We also had slushies:

Then it was time for Friends trivia! We were pretty good, but some of those questions were shockingly hard. Like what number was Monica’s apartment. My word!

It was still sunnyish out!

These are so funny!

Then it was nap time for Ally! I hadn’t been looking for whales that much, because I assumed the bridge would tell us when they saw them. WRONG!

I glanced outside and saw so many!! I couldn’t believe it! There were breaches, blowholes, it must have been a whole pod! Probably 6 or 7 at least. Man, I needed that lens. There’s at least one blow in this picture:

And one whale!

Here’s a few blows at once!

Lookie there!

I sat out on the verandah for about an hour.

Ally woke up in time for dinner at Izumi!

I can’t say I ever thought I would eat at Izumi – because it’s Sushi! But Ally loves sushi, so we checked the menu, and they had a beef and rice bowl. I was good!

I also had fried rice! It’s a way that vegetables sneak into me.

Ally had shrimp tempura:

And some specialty rolls!

A lot of specialty rolls.

My beef bowl must have been a deconstructed type bowl.

Ally also had assorted sashimi:

She ended up with crazy amounts of food, since I used some of my choices for her!

My dessert was excellent!

Ally had green tea ice cream.

Then we went up to the solarium to relax and watch the scenery. I took pictures.

It’s just amazing in here!

We wanted to go to the disco party in 270 tonight, but we stopped by the room to put out our breakfast order first!

Beautiful sunset!

Disco Inferno!

The passed out glowing rings too!

The disco party was super fun! Two thumbs up!

Then it was bedtime. We had an early morning!

The food all looks terrific. I can see the whales, but the other lens would have helped!
