Day 4 – Food and Trivia at Sea

Today was my second favorite day on a cruise – Palo brunch day!  Or as Scott called it – DCL Blog Day at Sea!

Woohoo!

We slept blissfully until around 7:30.  No elephants!!

What a relief!  And then Scott and Emily started sending us pictures…

They were upstairs at Cabanas for breakfast, and this is what they found above our room:

They roped off the whole area above our room!!  Lol!

The sign says, “This area is closed for cleaning for your future enjoyment”.

Well it did.  Until Scott fixed it:

This is the power of concierge.

There’s our verandah!  With us inside peacefully sleeping!

We didn’t eat before brunch, of course, and met everyone there.

We had the Palo room and a table next to it for our group.

We started off with a buffet tour. I didn’t take pictures because I have sooooo many buffet pictures! But I apologize to you loyal trip report readers looking for food pictures.

Here’s my plate, which is not representative of normal plates, I recognize that!

Here’s Misty’s – more normal:

Here’s my table!

Misty picking out her tea:

Our server insisted we all try this off menu egg. It was panko crusted, soft boiled.

I declined. Multiple times!  But others loved it.

Here’s the other table:

And us:

I had chicken parm as always.

I also love this lasagna. I was very glad our server brought an extra one!

I also ordered this for dessert, which I love!

After a lovely brunch, we went back to our room to change.

Heather went down first and set up a photo op for me.

We had a group trivia contest in our room at 2!

Scott, Emily and Isabelle came over early, and we had a little robe photo shoot. SD-14 brought his robe!

Here’s a little peek behind the scenes for you!

We were party ready!

Cameron had an awesome shirt on when he showed up:

Full house!

I saw Scott taking pictures from the verandah with a better angle and I went out the other verandah door to do the same. I realized he might not be expecting me, so I quietly said something as I approached so it wouldn’t startle him. Well that was worse! He almost jumped out of his skin! I was laughing hard when I took this picture.

Justin was the big winner! I neglected to take a picture of him and his prize!

Verandah check-in: Still awesome.

We had an afternoon reception in O’Gills, and there was trivia a couple of times before that, so we made our way there. Justin got loaded tots!

We won Movie Tunes Trivia! Woot woot!

And Brandon won the scavenger hunt! Well done, Brandon! I think he had all but one.

Dinner was at Lumiere’s tonight!

I sat next to these lovely ladies!

And I spilled a drink all over Shallon! That was so rude! It just slipped right out of my hands!

I also had fries:

The sunset was beautiful across the hall:

Shallon had a Mickey bar!

I had the Grand Marnier Soufflé which is absolutely delicious!

After dinner we all rushed out again for trivia. Where one of our groups won! And Brandon danced for everyone!

I got some popcorn, you know why, and we went back upstairs to pack!

We stopped in the concierge lounge too.

Then it was bedtime!

Day 5 – Homeward Bound

We woke up early and got ready today! Hello, Miami!

We went to Cabanas to see a bunch of the group and say goodbye. Here a bunch of us are!

We all headed for our cars or the airport at various times and the journey home began!

It was a wonderful cruise, and I think everyone had such a great time. Being with a great group of people was the best part!

Until next time, friends!

Speaking of which…

Next blog cruise!

Thanks for reading!
