Day 2 – Nassau and the Pirate Brewery!

Today was Nassau day!

We had an early morning meetup in Cove Café scheduled, so we woke up around 7.

This view is one of my favorite things in the world to wake up to.

Our verandah, while awesome, was directly under Cabanas. Which meant no privacy if you went outside! I was in my pjs, so I chose to take pictures from inside!

We went by the lounge on the way. The lounge was empty!

I grabbed a donut.

A few early birds met us in Cove Cafe, and we pulled some chairs together. I ordered a hot chocolate which was delicious! SD-14 popped out for a picture with it!

We were sitting and chatting when Scott and Heather walked over cradling their coffee like they were carrying something with the value of a Picasso.

Turns out they were! Scott said, “We have children”…

I could die from cuteness!!

We sat and chatted for about an hour.

Heather and I went to get some breakfast after we split up.

After we ate, we went to spy on our verandah from Cabanas. Heather went down to play Vanna White:

Hello, Nassau!

Then it was time to meet up and head to the Pirate Brewery! We had a small group with us.

And a beautiful ship behind us!

Emily and Heather ordering:

Their drinks were on fire! Literally!

The kind of fire that I learned is very hard to take a picture of!

I had a mocktail of the fruit punch variety.

This was the store section from the bar:

The bartender asked if I wanted his picture. I learned a long time ago that the only answer to that question is yes!

Here’s the menu!

And other drinks:

Scott supplied our coasters!

We had some fried food, talked for a while and then split up to head back. There she is!

Ship selfie!

Our verandah was still beautiful.

Scott and Heather decided they needed some classic Disney social media food/drink photos. I took a behind the scenes picture for Twitter!

That doesn’t look like a bad idea at all…

Then it was time for the live podcast recording! Which you can listen to here!

We had Fathoms reserved for the recording and it was a great space!

We sat in one big circle with a few people in a second row, and Scott, Emily and Isabelle led an interactive recording. It was really fun!

Isabelle recorded some of our answers:

After we finished, we reminded everyone to meet up for pin trading before dinner and went to O’Gills for some trivia!

Scott got a pretzel!

We went back to the room to get ready for dinner, and found a little treat from concierge!

We went up for pin trading in the Promenade Lounge and found Goofy playing the piano and hobnobbing with the group!

Brandon got a coveted Goofy selfie.

Then it was time to trade some pins!

Scott and Emily brought pins for everyone with the time and location on them! So smart! I brought pins, but nothing so fancy.

I had another mocktail:

Here’s Isabelle’s haul:

Then it was time for dinner in Rapunzel’s!

With the traveling minstrels.

Appetizer!

And Mickey ketchup:

I never quite understand why they only give you one or two pretzels in the bread basket at Rapunzel’s. I mean everyone wants one! We asked for some more and it took so long, I kind of thought they forgot.

They didn’t forget! They were making us an awesome plate of them!

Rapunzel stopped by!

And we danced!

I had steak, which is my norm. It goes well with a French fry appetizer!

Emily got up for real dancing!

Shallon had the birthday sundae for dessert, so I took a picture!

Several of us had to get up early to go to the Snuggly Duckling! I stayed until the end and went and got some popcorn. BECAUSE IT WAS FREE. It felt wrong not to get it.

Then I found everyone, we hung out for a while and then went back to the room. Courtney and Justin texted us to see if they could come see our room, and they came by so we talked until 11 pm or so.

Then it was bedtime! Here’s our towel animal!

Tomorrow was Castaway Cay day! Woohoo!
