Day 3 – Resort Day

We woke up at 6 today. That’s a little better!

Still dark though.

Stephen went running and I went down to get chairs when it got light.

See his white hat crossing the bridge there?

I had my eye on some chairs yesterday, so I went right there!

Taking pictures along the way, of course.

Perfection.

I can handle this view.

The pools open at 8. If you get a chair before 8, you have to be actively using it, or they will move your stuff. No dropping off towels at 6 and coming back a few hours later.

Aulani also has a one hour chair policy. If they notice no one is at your chair, they will fold a towel on the back of your chair and take a note. If they come back an hour later and that towel hasn’t moved, they take your stuff to the drop off location. They are serious about no chair saving all day! And I appreciate it.

It’s also great if you are looking for chairs. You can ask the attendants and they’ll tell you which ones are about to come due.

I had breakfast by the ocean!

Stephen came down a few minutes later. We saw a whale go by while we were sitting!

At 8 we went and got our daily wristbands and towels. They were actively reminding people about the one hour chair policy today. I assume it’s because they are more crowded on weekends when the locals come out.

By then it was 8:30 and I was already ready for lunch. That can’t be good!

Stephen went and got a cinnamon roll and croissant.

That would do for a while!

He also had coffee. I did not.

Then I finished the book I’ve been reading. We were right next to the adult hot tub, so we jumped in there for a while.

We got out, read and napped in the chairs for a while! This was the view behind our chairs:

This was in front!

SD-14 borrowed Stephen’s lei:

Then we floated around the lazy river several times to distract ourselves from the hunger that was quickly coming. Ha!

Then we hot tubbed, and then lunch!

Coke by the ocean! Ha! I could do this all day…

And chicken fingers.

A lot of the rocks around the resort ate very subtly carved with animals. Thanks to Joe Rohde, of course.

This fish was on our right:

I took a little nap after lunch, and then we went on a walk. We found the turtles this time! Woohoo!

We saw several! But I didn’t bring my camera since we were scrambling over rocks. Phone pic!

It was about 3 when we got back, so we went up to the room to shower and take a break. We got out again around 5 and went to take some Aulani sign pictures!

There are several restaurants and shops right down the street on the right. Super easy walk.

Then we went to see if Minnie was out! She was, but we didn’t get in line.

After that, we had a super nutritious dinner. Dole Whip!

We weren’t mad.

We walked out to the rocks to watch the sunset before going upstairs for the night.

When we walked back by the pool, Uncle was telling stories. From a safe distance!

It was a fun day!
