Day 2 – Royal Suite, Here We Come!

We woke up so early!  I was sleeping hard when the alarm went off at 6:30!  Which wasn’t really early, but it felt like 3:30 am to us!

But hey.  It was my birthday!  I was going to make it as long as possible!

We got dressed and packed.  Stephen went to go run, and I went to meet Heather and Mukta for our daytime skyride!

They were already in the lobby waiting.  I hugged Heather and we dropped their bags off in our room,  Then we walked to the gondolas.  There was no line at all.

I liked these even more during the daytime!

SD-14 – also a fan.

The views were just great. It was so peaceful.

Here we are!

We rode every segment again, which made us a little late to meet up the limo crew!  Whoops!

Stephen texted and said he would bring down our bags. My mom was in the lobby when we got back with all of our bags. Dad and Stephen showed up shortly thereafter with the rest. Stephen brought me a croissant and I inhaled it.

Sherry, Joy, Kris, and Shallon were outside, and the driver was there! We all hugged and said hi, made introductions to Dad and Mom and climbed in!

On the way there, Sherry told me someone was about to Facetime me and handed me a present at the same time. It was Kelly, and the present was amazing!!!

She had commissioned Jess from Roney Jo Creations (https://www.instagram.com/roneyjocreations/) to make me a customized little Coach Mickey case. She put soooo much thought into it. I took a picture of SD-14 with it later, but here are Jess’ pictures from Instagram so you can see it up close.

On one side was my message board screen name (Disneyfalcon), SD-14, a Mickey bar, Coke Zero and castles from both parks!

The other side had my favorite cruise things! Minnie statue from my favorite ship (the Fantasy), Castaway Cay, and a cabana with my name on the welcome sign!

Seriously, it was the best. Jess is so talented, and Kelly is so thoughtful!  Also, Kelly knows me really really well.  Lol

Missy and crew, and Beth and crew were already in the terminal when we arrived. We hugged and then checked in.

Ally and Sarah got in super late the night before, so they were just leaving the airport when we were checking in.

At the desk they gave me a Happy Birthday button which I immediately put on. I have to say, they are trained to watch for those buttons. I have never had so many Happy Birthday wishes. It’s possible I had more that day than in the entire 49 years before! Ha!

We boarded pretty quickly and went up to the lounge with Dad and Mom. They had never sailed concierge before and we wanted them to have the whole experience. They welcomed us to the lounge and we had a little snack while we went over our scheduled activities and waited for our rooms to be done.

David, one of our hosts was reminding us of our concierge benefits, and he mentioned that Stephen and I had unlimited internet.

Um. Wut.

I totally forgot we had unlimited internet!!! That was aaaaamazing!!!

I try to unplug, but I absolutely loved not having to turn everything off on my phone, being able to look things up on the internet whenever we wanted, and not ever worry about it! It was one of my favorite things! And look at this.

I should make this the lock screen on my phone!

We stopped by Dad and Mom’s room first so I could see how much they loved it. They were in a one bedroom suite, and they definitely loved it!

Then Stephen and I left and went to our room – which BLEW me away.

I had been in it before, but still. It wasn’t the same as being on a tour. We were alone in the room, we got to explore every detail, and it was ours. For three days!! Yay!

We ran around and looked at everything as quickly as we could. When we walked out on the deck, I just couldn’t get over how big it was. The living room was beautiful. The bedroom was beautiful. The bathroom was – well, you get the idea!

Stephen had birthday decorations in the room for me which was so sweet!

On our way out, we opened one door we hadn’t opened yet, and found our kitchen! We laughed a little. Why was there a kitchen? I wasn’t cooking!

We had a super nice Espresso maker, dishes and glassware, a microwave and more. And look at the sugar cubes!!!

I opened the full size fridge and saw all the drinks and was excited.

Then I opened the freezer and we both audibly gasped.

There were like 16 Mickey bars in there!!!!!

ACK!! Okay, I’m good with a kitchen.

I resisted the urge to take pictures and make videos, and we went to meet everyone at lunch in Cabanas. Everyone asked how the room was and I said – “Eh. It’s okay…” Ha!! Then I fessed up – I lied, it’s incredible. Absolutely incredible.

Dad and Mom were so excited to see Ally that they just about couldn’t sit still or eat!  Mom kept asking for updates on how close she was. After we started eating they had reached the terminal and were checking in.

At some point she texted and said they both looked way too young to be doing this alone. So true!

Finally they made it upstairs! Yay!

We sat and talked to everyone and ate and then said goodbye so they could go to their rooms. We went to our room, and I promptly kicked Stephen out so I could video and take pictures! Check it:

The kitchen!

I couldn’t figure out why there were curtains around the bed, until the first morning when we realized how much light was streaming in from the bathroom! Not a bad thing for me, but it would be for some. The curtains were a great idea!

Look at this bathroom!  The glass was switch glass.  There was a light switch that would instantly frost it!  It was so cool!

This was the ceiling in the bathroom and bedroom. They were little lights that faded in and out! Soooo cool!

My sweet Disney rep sent me flowers! That was so nice!

The living area was just huge.

There were fresh flowers on the table, which was an elegant touch.

There were two pull downs in the living room with curtains to section them off for privacy.

And now the deck, probably the best part of the room. And there are a LOT of great things about the room.

Our OWN hot tub.

Pictures do not convey how big this deck is.

I finally figured I had taken enough, and went to let Stephen know he could come back in! Here’s our entry way. Behind the door on the far side is another bathroom with a shower. The door on the right is the kitchen.

Here’s our beautiful door!

And you can watch my video here if you need more!  🙂

Then Stephen came in and we unpacked! We had a welcome gift:

Then Ally and Sarah and then Dad and Mom came to check out the suite for a few minutes! Then Heather and Mukta came and stayed until the muster. We even had a little meeting at the table.

Because we could!

Heather was posting on Storybook social media here, of course.

Mukta decided to try to figure out the Espresso machine for Heather.

Seriously, look at these sugar cubes.

SD-14 and my present!

SD-14 made himself at home on the shelves.

After the muster everyone came over for a Sailaway party! Woot woot!

Stephen and Levi are checking out the SpaceX rocket catchers in this picture.  That’s the official term.  Rocket catchers.

I planned on getting a picture of everyone on deck, but while I was waiting for everyone to be out there at the same time, Stephen called me inside to show me a birthday video they had all made!

It was the sweetest thing!

It included messages from so many friends and family, and Chase edited it all together. I am NOT a crier, but that got me. Sooo sweet.

So many people gave me presents too! That’s not normally a thing as an adult, but it sure was for my 50th!

Like the Coach case from Kelly, I was so touched by how thoughtful they all were! Sherry got me something special from Duluth Trading Company (ha!), Mukta got some hats for SD-14, and even personalized one! Heather and Missy got me an amazing straw hat with Storybook Destinations on it, and there was more! But I need to stop naming things in case I forget one…

But I loved them all!!!

So after the crying and the sweetness, I totally forgot to take a group picture on deck. Whoops!!

Eventually everyone said goodbye and left to get ready for Palo dinner!

While we were getting ready for dinner, Chase texted and asked if we could talk for my birthday. Uh, yeah. I had UNLIMITED internet. So we Facetimed. 😊

We had dinner in the private room at Palo tonight! Almost everyone came which was fun! We had a server I’ve had twice before named Katia, and she’s great! I didn’t bring my camera, so no real pictures.

At one point during dinner, Shallon was saying something about me (maybe while eating chocolate) and declared I was “The Best Tammy in the World!!”

Lol and woohoooo!!

Apologies to all other Tammy’s, but that’s my new tagline. Shallon declared it to be true.

And after we were full of soufflés, they brought out two cakes! Ack!

After dinner, we wandered the stores and went to Match Your Mate. It wasn’t a great one, and Stephen was falling asleep. So we didn’t stay for Silent DJ. That’s okay, we had a beautiful suite to go back to!

This may very well have been the best birthday of my life. I woke up at Disney with Stephen, went to bed on a Disney Cruise, got to talk to Chase and Olivia, see Ally, hear from friends that I haven’t heard from in a while, spent the day with wonderful friends and family, and ate at my favorite restaurant. I am incredibly blessed and thankful. 🙂
