Day 1 – Traveling Day

Much to my dismay, we had a brutally early flight, which was delayed. We ended up in the very last row, and we must attribute the earliness of this phone picture as to why Stephen is the only decent looking one.

Finally, we arrived in Orlando! Our grandparents had already been at the airport, but Chase didn’t fly in until later that night from Nashville.

We were staying at the hotel in the airport, so we put our luggage in the room and went to get dinner while waiting for Chase.

The biggest failure of Las Vegas, Nevada, in my humble opinion, is the absence of any Chick-fil-a’s. Seriously, there are none in the whole state. So of course we had to eat Chick-fil-a at the airport!

Every mother (and wife) knows it is always a risk to allow your children, or husband, to pack on their own for a trip. There’s something in a mother-gene that allows for no mistakes while packing, and unfortunately, at the age of 16, that gene hadn’t kicked in for me yet.

I forgot to pack any shorts. We were going on a cruise, and I only had jeans and sweatpants. Epic. Fail.

So we also spent a long time at the airport searching for shorts for me! In case anyone was wondering, there are no shorts to be had there, unless you’re really into Minions and Harry Potter.

Around 8 that night, Chase finally landed! He had started his first year in college, and we hadn’t seen him for a few months. Somehow my grandmother still managed to sneak in the first hug, and it was probably a toss-up on who cried the most, my mother or grandmother.

Phone selfie!

After catching up, we hit the hay to prepare for the next day!
