Day 1 – Travel Day

I was originally flying from Colorado, and then Ally was invited to Lipscomb University for a weekend to honor their presidential scholars. I didn’t realize parents went until a couple of weeks before! Oops! So she and I spent a great weekend with Chase in Nashville, and I flew to Orlando earrrrrly Sunday morning from there.

I’m off!

Of course, the change of plans made me get there first, which is always my favorite!

I landed around 9 am, and my word it was cold! Dang it, Joan!

The happiest signs!

I did stop to get this little beauty to eat on the bus:

Have band, will travel!

I was off to Saratoga but our room wasn’t ready. I may have been inspired to hit up a park for a few hours, but it was cold! So I found this cozy little hideaway and sat down and got caught up on work and social media.

Bonnie was supposed to be there pretty soon, but she kept being delayed and delayed.

I could NOT decide what to do for lunch, but finally just ate in the food court.

I explored a little. Saratoga has so many cool little seating areas. I scoped this out as a possible place to watch the Super Bowl later.

The girls coming from Colorado asked if I could use my Disney magic and get us into ESPN to watch the Broncos play. Um. Nope. No how, no way.

So maybe here!

The pool looked colllllld…

I also bought some Mickey reading glasses because they were so stinking cute.

Me working:

And drinking Coke Zero.

Bonnie was finally here! Yay!!!

Our room was ready! Double yay! It was beautiful of course!

Here’s our view for Instagram. Downtown Disney was right over there!

When we got to the room, Jess came to meet up with us! It’s so fun to see her in Florida now! We talked for a little while and then we decided to walk back over to the main area for some snacks and to wait for everyone.

Snack time!

Hi Jess!

Misty and Nicole landed and we dropped off their stuff and went to Disney Springs to shop and eat dinner!

Dinner at Earl, of course:

Shopping! Leather ears, anyone?

I like this one!

Misty asked a little boy if he would take our picture and he clammed up and went running to his mom. Stranger Danger!!!

She came and took our picture and we told her that her son did exactly as he should!

Beth landed at some point and we kept shopping. Then Nicole’s mom landed, so Nicole went to meet her at the room.

At some point here, we got a phone call from our car service who informed us that our car was in the shop and they couldn’t get us at 9:30. They thought it would PROBABLY be 11:00, but it could be later. Seriously?

He assured us that we didn’t have to be on until 4, so we should be fine even if they were several hours late. Yeah.  Thanks.

We asked why it was decided our car was the one in the shop and he basically said he knew we didn’t have to be on until 4, so he wasn’t that worried about us. He wouldn’t even promise us that we would be picked up at all. When we suggested he rent a car to pick us up, he said no way.

We were not very happy and tried to find some alternate plans, but nothing great was coming up. We made him promise to call us at 9 and let us know that the car was done and they would be there by 11.

He agreed (but didn’t call, we called him at 9:30) and we decided we would have to live with getting there later.

We all made our way to the room and ended up watching the Broncos kick booty from there. Woot!

We went to bed around 11:30 which is right when The Pneumonia landed, and I talked her through how to find us once she got to the resort. They brought her in a golf cart and I went out in my pjs to find her when they went the wrong way. But at least we were sleeping in a little?

Up tomorrow, boarding the Disney Dream!
