Day 8 – Back to Tokyo
I set an alarm for 6 am and got up to go to Fushimi Inari again. Ally wanted to come with me, so I woke her up and we tiptoed out.
We’re here!
We only saw a few people this morning!
I have several walls of travel photos in our house, so my goal was to get one I loved here to add to it.
I took a TON of pictures to make sure I got one I liked!
Ally was very patient.
When we got back to the house, we finished packing and headed back to the train station. We went in 7-11 for some food for the train!
Back at the platform.
We’re on! Here’s my food:
When we got back to Tokyo, we made our way to our Airbnb there.
This one was close to a metro, but up a bit of a hill, which isn’t as easy when you have luggage!
When we got there, there were still people cleaning! We waited downstairs for a while and finally got in. I only took one picture this time!
We had a lot to see in Tokyo, and not a lot of time! So, we headed out!
I would have loved to walk through there!
We were going downtown though. To Shibuya Crossing, the busiest intersection in the world!
We crossed the intersection with a bazillion other people, and went into a Starbucks to see if they had my mug! No luck.
Our next destination was one we were all excited about… the Hedgehog Café!!
When I texted Mukta while we were planning the trip, I asked if she wanted to go there. She said there was zero percent chance she was saying no to that. Agreed.
We went in and got directions. We all got to pick a hedgehog and feed them if we wanted to buy food. We got 30 minutes with our hedgehogs.
Here’s ours! His name was Chocolate.
Can you even?!!!
Mukta’s was named Kiki. She declared they were now forever best friends.
Chocolate has a schoolroom setting to live in.
Chocolate LOVED the little mealworms we fed him.
They also had hats! Ha!
Ally, who was very excited about the Hedgehog Café, was actually quite terrified of holding them. She was just sure he was going to jump out of her hands. lol
We finally had to say goodbye to our new friend, and went back out into Tokyo. Bye, Chocolate!
There’s no way to capture how many people were crossing without disrupting said people.
We wandered the streets and shopped.
We found dinner at a little hibachi restaurant and ate like kings. Ally said she was living her best life when she saw all the food. This was one of her plates:
Then we went back out. We had one more stop! The Tokyo Skytree! We walked back to the metro.
Back at the crossing:
It wasn’t super easy to get to the Skytree from where we were, and it was getting late, but we forged ahead. There it is!
Luckily there was no real wait to go up! It was amazing up there. Tokyo is stunningly big. Every direction you looked was like this:
We also had ice cream. Of course.
Then it was back to the house, and bed! We did not have enough time in Tokyo for sure!
