Day 2 – Hello, Japan!

We woke up around 8, and went for some breakfast before the flight. Our room included food in the lounge, and there was also a buffet downstairs we could pay for. We were sure we could find something at the lounge, so we went there.

We were the only ones! And the host apologized over and over, saying there wasn’t much there, we may want to go downstairs.

Um. There was a huge buffet! We all had so many things! And there was food to order! I can’t even imagine what the buffet downstairs looked like if it was better.

I brought a Diet Coke back to the room:

We packed up and caught the shuttle back to the airport (not going to lie, I was a little sad to leave this hotel), and made our way through customs again.

Once we got through, I found my Starbucks mug! Woohoo!

We had a short flight to Tokyo where Mukta was waiting for us!

Everyone got in line to buy shuttle tickets to Tokyo Disney (woot woot!) and I went to find an ATM. We boarded the next bus and we were off! We’re here!

We were staying at Hilton Tokyo Bay! We would have loved to stay onsite, but we were trying to make this trip as economical as possible. So the Hilton Tokyo Bay was the perfect option! It was a good price and basically right across the street from the resort!

Ileen was waiting for us at the hotel so we all made it! Phew! I mean, yay!

Ileen and Sherry checked in at one desk, and Mukta and I at another. We got a hard sale to upgrade to a room that included breakfast. I mean, I was surprised by how much of a hard sale actually! But they were still friendly when we declined and we were off to the room.

The ADORABLE little room!

The details were so cute!

Three beds – perfect!

We unpacked and freshened up for a few minutes and then we knocked on Sherry and Ileen’s door and headed out. Look at the elevator hall!

First we stopped and bought our park tickets for the next day in the lobby. Then we were off for a resort tour! We could walk to the monorail from our hotel, or catch a free shuttle. The shuttle was so cute!

And look at the handholds!

Made it to the monorail station!

Can you even?

I see a monorail!

But we didn’t make that one. There’s a nominal fee for the monorails, so we were buying tickets still. They run every few minutes though, no biggie! We’re on!

I had read before we came, that people in Japan considered it rude for you to take pictures of them without asking. So this began a trip where I tried very hard to limit my pictures with recognizable people in them. It wasn’t easy! Like I would have loved a monorail picture here! But there were people around us, so I refrained.

We got off at Ikspiari, which is like the Downtown Disney of Tokyo Disney.

Our first stop was Disney’s Ambassador Hotel, where we planned to eat dinner at the Tick Tock Diner.

By this time of the night, they were out of some of the cute Mickey shaped food, but we still found things we liked! This was Ally’s:

Mine:

After filling our bellies, we walked to the gift shop.

Ally found some cute Donald and Daisy glasses!

This was a ponytail holder!

And these Donald Duck boxers were hilarious.

Sherry also found an amazing Tigger shirt, and was NOT leaving the store without it. So she bought it, and we explored some more. Here’s more of the hotel:

Next we walked through Ikspiari.

And back to a monorail station! Look at this Easter monorail:

The Disneyland Hotel was beautiful.

They had a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!

Look at this dollhouse:

Sup, Mickey!

Sup, Ally.

We decided to sit in the lounge and get some dessert!

And Coco-Cola Zero!

Look at this amazing cake:

Back on the monorail! Empty this time.

Except for these lovely ladies.

Our last stop was Hotel Miracosta. Which was absolutely gorgeous!

We explored a little and then we went back to our hotel, absolutely exhausted! We said goodnight and all went to bed!

DisneySea tomorrow!
