Day 3 – DisneySea

Today was our first park day!  Woohoo!

Having three beds was awesome!

Hotels in Japan come with pajamas for the guests! Here is Mukta modeling hers:

After we all showered and got ready, we got Sherry and Ileen and went down to grab some breakfast to go from one of the cafes in the lobby.

Look at these water bottles!

They had great looking food here! We grabbed food here several times.

We lined up at park opening, and made our way in. We passed a welcome show!

Ahead of Ally and Mukta, you can see Hotel Miracosta. It’s actually in the park! You can get inside without going through the park, of course, but what a great location!

And there it was – Volllllcano!!

Our first goal was Journey to the Center of the Earth, which is in the volcano. We passed Tower of Terror on the left in the American Waterfront area.

This is beautiful! This area is called the Mediterranean Harbor.

This is unlike any other Disney park!

We got right into line!

Super cool queue!

That was a really fun ride! Unlike anything else.

We had speed walked there, so we relaxed and took some pictures once we got off.

This is the Volcano courtyard area? I have no idea how to describe that. But it’s all part of Mysterious Island.

We had time for a selfie!

Volcano was smoking!

We went for snacks at Nautilus Galley!

The food and snacks at Tokyo Disney is a whole ‘nutha level. Just spectacular! Look at this cutie:

I got a Gyoza dog which was delicious.

Then we were off again!

We passed Magellan’s where we really wanted to eat one night. It was crazy hard to make reservations for a sit-down restaurant beforehand, much easier to do in person the day of. I don’t think we tried today though.

And we are walking.

To the Tower of Terror to get a Fastpass!

Photobomber Ally.

Success!

Then we walked some more.

We passed some Mochi balls and had to get them!

They are definitely a weird texture, but one of the flavors was quite tasty!

It’s funny to walk through the Cape Cod area. Especially since I lived in Cape Cod for a few years. #merica

Now we were in the Port Discovery area.

We got in line for Aquatopia!

While in line, the craziest thing happened.

A European family in front of us, got out an empty plastic water bottle and their son, uh, went to the bathroom in it.

Wut?

We were soooo confused. Why on earth? The line was only like 10 minutes long!

We just could not figure that one out. Oh well.

On the ride!

Hello, Sherry and Ileen!

That was a cute ride! Still don’t know what happened in line, but anyway…

Ally modeled an exceptional hat:

Next, we took a ride on the Electric Railway.

Onboard!

And off! Hello, Tower of Terror!

Tower was awesome. Totally different storyline, which we didn’t completely follow all of because of the language barrier, but Mukta had read ahead and gave us an overview!

Then we got in line for the Big Band Beat. Which we had heard was a must do. Big Band Beat, was exactly what it sounds like. A Big Band show. In English!

It was…interesting. That is all I have to say about it.

Next we were ready for lunch! So we started in the direction of said lunch.

Ally and Mukta are more adventurous eaters than the rest of us, so they wanted lunch in the Arabian Coast. Sherry, Ileen and I went for lunch in Mermaid Lagoon!

Arabian Coast was over that way:

The Mermaid Lagoon was amazing! So beautiful inside and out!

We found the restaurant and ordered. It was empty!

I had pizza! And French Fries. French Fries go with everything.

Mukta and Ally joined us after eating, and we walked around.

There was a store in the whale!

Inside I found – Mickey soap!! Ack! It dispenses soap in the shape of Mickey!

Some of the hand washing stations around the park also dispensed soap in the shape of Mickey. I was super excited to find an at home version. This was when I was wishing I had a bigger suitcase!

I bought one for a giveaway, but I couldn’t get two!

We also went to see King Triton’s Concert. It was super different than our Little Mermaid live versions, it was an actual concert! Performers were suspended in the air above us, super cute!

After we finished exploring the Mermaid Lagoon, we walked towards Arabian Coast.

The theming was just incredible!

Hello, ladies!

Then we went to the Magic Lamp Theater for a magic show. This was another very different show, and we enjoyed it!

The big highlight in Arabian Coast is the much beloved – Sinbad’s Storybook Voyage! So we went there next.

We’re on!

Really great ride! After that we made our way over to Indiana Jones!

Indy is such a great ride.

We got snacks right outside after!

Wait times board!

Ally found this adorable hat!

Then we moved on again!

We did stop at Turtle Talk! Turtle Talk was very different as well!

Still walking to the front of the park.

It’s hilarious to me that Duffy (who was definitely created in Japan) calls his hometown Cape Cod.

It’s basically like we are in the atrium of the Disney Magic right here.

We walked by Tower.

Which is really gorgeous, by the way.

Since Toy Story is an exact replica, we didn’t wait in line for it.

We stopped in a Scrooge McDuck store.

Which was pretty much all Duffy and friends clothes!

We were starting to notice that merchandise in Tokyo was very very different than in the U.S. parks. A huge percentage of the stores were devoted to Duffy and friends. Very very little was devoted to clothes. I was looking for a long sleeved T-shirt that said Tokyo Disney, and there was nothing!

There was a lot of cutesie stuff that we don’t have though! These little purses in all different characters were everywhere. After a day of digging around for tickets and cash (no Magicands), I decided I needed one of those little purses. And I did buy one the next day! You’ll see it soon!

There is also a TON of Donald merch. He’s super popular there.

I also bought my favorite ears ever. They had a few different styles, and what I love about them is that they are soft! No hard headbands. I can wear it all day with no pain! You’ll see those soon too!

I do regret not buying more of the purses and more headbands! Especially since we can’t get them here.

It was getting dark out!

We stopped and ate dinner at Zambini brothers, which is Italian! I had Spaghetti.

With a fork!

We learned one thing in Japan. Forks are hard to find. You are in Japan, you eat with chopsticks. At Disney however, with tourists in mind, there were plastic forks. I’m not bad with chopsticks, but eating slippery noodles with them is hard! I grabbed two extra forks to keep for emergencies!

After we finished dinner, we had planned on staying for Fantasmic, but we were so tired. And it was windy. Wahhh.

We decided we had one more shot at it, and we would wait. So we made our way back to the hotel and relaxed for a little while. Then it was bed time! Disneyland tomorrow!

Lol! We were just so surprised! It was the opposite of what I was expecting! I was like – I am in a Disney theme park watching a variety show from long ago! It was surreal!
