Day 4 – Tokyo Disneyland
We just woke up in Japan! So, what are we going to do? We’re going to Disneyland!
We went down for breakfast and then caught the shuttle to the monorail.
We’re here! Main Street at Tokyo Disneyland is spectacular. I love this!
Welcome band!
First stop? Monster’s Inc. Fastpasses!
Success!
Cutest photo stop ever!
Japan is all about the cute! We were amazed at how many guests were wearing matching clothes and/or headbands. If it was a group of students in matching uniforms, they all bought matching ears/headbands of some kind! It wasn’t unusual at all to see a group of 5 teenage boys in school uniforms with Tigger ears on. It was so hard not to take pictures of them! But I refrained!
I did take this though, no faces! Look at these plushes!
We walked by Space, but went back to ride later.
We were headed for Pooh! Which is spectacular in Japan!
This part of the queue reminded me of Forbidden Journey!
The inside was so cool!
We’re on!
And right after I took this, I realized they were yelling at me for taking pictures. Whoops!! So sorry!
It was hard to keep up with when I could take no-flash pictures and when I couldn’t! So I pretty much stopped on all rides, just in case, after that.
The ride really was awesome. It was a trackless ride, and so well done. We walked by Small World.
We passed some characters in the wild.
Characters in the wild in Japan are exactly that – in the wild. There is no line, a crowd just gathers and steps up at random. That was way to stressful for us Americans, so we didn’t stop!
Queen of Hearts! We were going there for lunch but it wasn’t open yet!
Hello, castle.
A look back at Fantasyland.
Tokyo still had their Easter decorations up!
Since Queen of Hearts wasn’t open yet, we went back to Small World. Where I studied the signs carefully and deduced that I could take pictures.
It’s so colorful!
That’s adorable.
And we are on! Small World in Tokyo is like our Disneyland’s version with favorite characters throughout. I think they are really well done in both locations!
Hello, Herc!
Moana is back there!
That was so cute! There were different characters than the California version, which was cool.
Next up? Lunch!
This restaurant is adorable!
Ally and I saw cake in the line. Had to get it. Didn’t know what was in it, didn’t matter. Cake.
That was a yummy lunch!
We passed a short little Easter parade.
We went over to Tomorrowland next. Look at this adorable egg!
And these!
We rode Monsters Inc and loved it! I like California’s ride fine, but wow does it pale in comparison to this version! This one was more Buzz Lightyear style!
Here’s the exit store.
How cute is this?
And this?!
I have since seen the Donald headband in the U.S., so I’m glad we didn’t buy it!
Alien boxers!
We’re out!
And on Space Mountain!
You can see Mukta about to buy popcorn here. I neglected to get popcorn pictures, but Tokyo Disney is famous for crazy popcorn flavors! And we tried a LOT of them! Some were surprisingly good! Like curry! Who would have thought?
Then we went to the Sweetheart Café for more snacks!
Ileen got this amazzzzing popcorn bucket!
More cute snacks!
Mickey muffins!
We went for ice cream though.
After snacks, it was time for the parade. We got some seats and sat down to wait. See my soft ears?
In Japan, everyone sits for the parades and shows. It’s amazing! And before they started you would start to see little blankets appear on the ground saving spaces. And no one touches them! You put a blanket down, that space is yours. Whether you stay or not! It’s so polite!
Here it comes!
Hello, Mickey!
Clearly I took a lot of Mickey pictures.
Princesses galore!
About here Rapunzel noticed my ears. And was quite excited by them!
Belle got her own float!
Love this one!
This float is practically perfect.
That was a great parade!
We went into the shops for a little while after.
This photo isn’t staged at all…
We decided we needed some castle pics!
And here’s my adorable purse!
We walked towards Adventureland and Westernland. And got – Mickey shaped churros!!!
Now this churro is the perfect example of how Japan goes above and beyond with food. I mean, it can’t be that much harder to make churros Mickey shaped. Why do we not do that?
Ally did buy some Stitch ear barrettes, and I don’t know if I ever got a picture! You can kind of see one here:
We went to the Tiki Tiki Tiki Room!
And then the Jungle Cruise!
The Great American Waffle Company always had a line!
I really loved this area.
Back to Adventureland!
For a ride on the wildest ride in the wilderness!
Then we stopped for the Country Bear Jamboree! Which was a mix of English and Japanese.
Ally has apparently not been on Country Bear Jamboree since she was old enough to remember and she was shocked and stunned by some of the songs. Lol
Then it was time for dinner! Tonight we were eating at the Crystal Palace. It’s a buffet, like ours, but still very different, and we were excited about that.
Dumbo got a seat.
This looks like a kids meal, but you will not be surprised to learn that it was mine.
This was Mukta’s I think. Look at this egg! Again, above and beyond in Japan.
Desserts!
We all enjoyed that I think!
When we came out, the parade was happening, so we stopped to watch from a distance.
That was the end to a great day and we headed back after.
The monorail station had a crazy vending machine. Crazy vending machines were EVERYWHERE in Japan. Later in our trip, we noticed on most streets the odds were good you could stand in one place and throw a softball and hit one.
Dumbo picked one out!
One more day in the parks tomorrow!
