Day 3 – Bimini

No sleeping in today!  I was wide awake at 7!

We’re here!

My number one cruise rule – we rope drop private islands. We don’t waste time on private island days!

We ordered breakfast the night before, and it was a little late, so I texted Missy to tell her we were running a few minutes behind.

Then it came! Look at this delivery system! Cool!

We never tried it, but one great thing about Virgin is that they will deliver room service to you, anywhere on the ship! You just order on the app! I love that!

We were in our room though. Ha!

We were the first ones off the ship! I told you – we don’t mess around.

Bimini is not Virgin’s private island, it’s actually a Beach Club that Virgin uses just for the cruise ship guests on port days. It’s not right at the port, so there’s a short tram ride to get there.

Here we are!

Here’s a map. You can see there are two giant pools:

Since we were the first guests, we had our choice of seats!

It was quite lovely.

We were rich with choices, so we took our time deciding. We put our stuff on some chaises, but we ended up siting in some water chairs most of the day! This was our view.

We got the lay of the land, and checked out the food. No food until noon? Yikes!

We should have done some grab and go!

We did thoroughly enjoyed our water chairs.

Then it was lunch time! Lunch was not my kind of food. I totally recognize that is my own limitation, being a picky eater, and do not blame Virgin. But it may be a good idea to have some more basic foods there?

In the future, I’ll bring a grab and go, no problem.

I had a little chicken curry and some corn.

We decided to get in the ocean after lunch, and the water was beautiful!

After a lovely day, we decided to head back around three. We were in port until midnight that night, and there would be a bonfire later. Unfortunately, there was no dinner on the island, so we did have to go back for dinner!

We’re back!

We got some ice cream!

The bar was stocked.

Then we showered and got dressed for dinner at Gunbae, which is the Korean restaurant. We were very early, so we walked around The Galley.

These desserts looked beautiful!

These popsicles always look so good!

Missy and Levi!

It’s time!

We realized we could see a turtle way down there!!

Dinner at Gunbae was very fun. Again, it was not my kind of food, but it was a super fun atmosphere.

They did seat us with one man who was there alone to round out our table.

Another great thing about Virgin, there is no upcharge dining! Everything is included. I love that!

We had a second dinner after dinner. Well, Missy and I did.

Then Stephen and I got off to go back to the Beach Club!

There was a huge bonfire, but not many guests. I think they would have gotten more people out there if there was food!  Most people probably decide they don’t want to go all the way back.

It was super dark, and I didn’t bring a tripod, so I only took a couple of pictures.

We could see the ship, and it was lit up super cool with the balcony lights forming purple octopuses on the side! We started to move closer to take pictures and it was back to red! I wasn’t expecting that! So I missed the picture.

We only stayed a few minutes and then headed back. We just missed Levi and Missy who were going back to swim.

Onboard!

Once we were back, we stopped by Sailor Services to check on my glasses.

We had filled out a report, and they said they would mail them to us if they found them. Which seemed strange? Why wouldn’t they first try to give them to me onboard?

So we decided we would check on them periodically. We asked about them, and they brought out about 8 pairs of glasses that looked exactly alike! So I had to try them all on. Found them! Woohoo!

After that, we went to the nights show. It was called Dual Reality.

There were a couple of shows that we did not go to, which were interesting. Virgin actually had some consent language for them in their app! Here’s the first one:

And the second!

While the consent language may seem shocking, it is good that they have it. You know what you are getting into, and you know what to avoid if you want to!

Tonight’s show had none of that. It was a Westside Story/Cirque de Soleil type show that was great! Some of the stunts were absolutely amazing! We really enjoyed it!

Then it was bedtime! We realized we had not had turn down, which meant no towels after our afternoon showers. So we ordered more towels in the app! Super easy!
