Day 1 – Hawaii Bound!

The day was here!  We were going to Hawaii for Christmas! 

With Ally in school, and Chase and Olivia’s jobs, vacation planning is hard these days!  Finding a time when we can all go is pretty difficult.  So sure, busiest, most-expensive time to travel, Christmas time it is!

We left LA early with Ally in tow.  We were planning on leaving Saturday, but plane tickets were a ton cheaper to leave Friday!  Well okay!  So we added another night, and left the day before.  Chase and Olivia couldn’t come until Saturday, so we did the first night without them.

The flight was uneventful.  We got our bags and Stephen went to get the car. 

Which took FOREVER.  Ally and I sat and sat. 

Luckily I had survival snacks.

Homemade Chex Mix! It was Christmas after all.

Stephen finally got back with he car and we were off.  We stopped at the base and bought groceries and grabbed lunch.

We made it! Woohoo!

Our room wasn’t ready yet, so we walked around.

Len Testa and Laurel were going to be there for another day or two, so I texted him to say we had made it! I was taking this picture when Len jumped into the background and it surprised me so much that I missed the shot!

Dang it, Joan! Lol

Len got us some Cokes and water and we found Laurel and went and sat and caught up for a little while.

We got the text that our room was ready around 4, and headed up! We had a two bedroom oceanview room! With amazing views.

According to Twitter, Jason Mamoa was over in the Four Seasons, the white building! I looked for an unusually large man on the balconies, but I didn’t see one!

We ate dinner in the room, and fell asleep pretty early! Time change problems are real, even from the West Coast!
