Day 1 – Covid Negative!

Everyone arrived Saturday or Sunday, and we woke up Monday morning ready to go!

My parents were coming from a Disney resort so they were on a transfer.  Four of us had Covid recently and all had recovery letters!  Ally was the only one who didn’t.  So she had to take a Covid test after we arrived at the port.

We were going to have a hard decision to make if we got there and she didn’t pass!

We were so excited and go there so early, we couldn’t park!  So we took a lap around.  To look at the SpaceX boosters.  Of course we did.

Then we went back, dropped off our luggage, and got in line for the garage.

Once we were in, Ally tested in the car, and we all crossed our fingers and waited.

My parents had already arrived via the bus, and texted to say they were negative. Ally realized if she failed, she was going to be a huge disappointment to the family. HUGE!

But her phone vibrated, and she was negative!! Woohoo!!

Which as Michael Scott says – apparently in the medical community, negative is good. Very good!

Thank the heavens. Our very bougie trip was on!

We checked in, and went to the concierge waiting area.

Still had to wear masks in transportation terminals!

We boarded pretty quickly. Chase caught Olivia too excited to slow down!

We’re on!

Ally was equally happy, of course.

We went to the concierge lunch!  First time for the kids!

The concierge hosts and spa representatives came around and we got all our appointments set for the week.

Chase’s meals are always picture worthy!

Mine!

Ally declared she has a moral objection to mousse and cheesecake because they can’t take a stand on texture. Seems reasonable.

After lunch, we went up to our rooms. I went with Chase and Olivia to their room because I wanted to see their reaction to their amazing room. Olivia in particular was so excited, she did not disappoint! She loved everything! The TV in the bathroom! Two bathrooms! The tub!

That is the correct reaction by the way.  We went to our room next.

Here’s our verandah:

Welcome fruit!

Afterwards I showed them the lounge and sundeck. Look how happy she is!

Next we went exploring.

I guarantee I am more excited than I look here!

Chase knows things that are important to take pictures of – red funnels!!

And then the army men came by!

We got some gelato in Vanellope’s!

We came across Mickey and Minnie and Chase and I took a whole ton of pictures!

We were basically paparazzi!

There were 2500 people onboard, so fairly full, but not sold out!

We popped into the kid’s club.

Chase kept taking pictures of happy Olivia.

Ally left us at some point for her first of many naps. Olivia’s like – Yo, I’ve got a golden ticket.

We sailed away and admired SpaceX boosters from the other side.

Dinner tonight was in Enchanted Garden.

After dinner, we went to Movie Quotes! I love Movie Quotes! We lost, but did pretty well!

Later that night we went to see the juggler and then hung out in the lounge. The kids were warming up to the lounge very quickly!

Afterwards we shopped and lounge hopped from Skyline to Evolution. Chase had late night pizza.

Then we went to snippets in the adult club. Olivia was so excited she recognized the Rugrats theme, but she didn’t know she had to keep standing and participating. She was horrified. But did just fine!  Some may say she really got into it…

We lost Stephen and Chase and Olivia at some point, but Ally and I shut down the dance floor with Silent DJ.

Always fun to read cruise trip reports! And great photos as always! On our cruise last summer, we all had to test like Ally did. There were some tense moments of waiting, but great relief when our whole group of 9 all passed!
