Day 7 – Leaving Aulani!

Today we were leaving Aulani! Sadness. But we weren’t leaving Hawaii, so that was good!  

The World Cup was officially starting today, so our plan was to find somewhere to watch it during lunch and then head out.

I decided I needed more pictures first though! So I left everyone watching soccer stuff and went wandering.

One of my goals was a tour of a two bedroom villa that they open up every day.

While I was out on the balcony, I pulled my phone card out and my Disney Rewards card came out of my pocket with it – and promptly fell 10 stories into the bushes. Oops!!

 I guess that ended my plan for last minute shopping!

A DVC guy also showed up while I was taking pictures and scared me to death when he opened the door! I mean like seriously, I screamed. My heart felt like it was coming out of my chest. I guess I was lost in thought wondering how to get my card back and he shocked me!

He called maintenance to look for my card but it wasn’t found. That’s okay, I got a new one when I got home. There are always more trips and opportunities to use those reward dollars!

I went back to the room and everyone was ready to go. We took our luggage to the car and then walked down to Off the Hook to eat lunch and watch the World Cup.

I had a hamburger.

Here was our view of the game. Not perfect, but not a bad place to watch for sure!

And then we had to leave Aulani. Sadness. Goodbye little island paradise!

We were staying in Waikiki tonight at the Hale Koa which is a hotel for military families right on the beach.

I didn’t take a lot of pictures for the rest of the day, but here’s what I have.

When we got to the Hale Koa our room wasn’t ready so we walked down the beach. Waikiki beach was a bit more crowded than our little paradise.

Our room still wasn’t ready when we got back so we sat in the giant open air lobby.

When our room was finally done, we didn’t stay in it long.

We walked to the mall for dinner and a little shopping. Then we walked back to the hotel. We walked along the beach tonight and watched the beach performers. They were great! Then we went to sleep. We had another change of hotels tomorrow!
