Day 3 – Disneyland Paris!  Finally!

We were going to Disneyland!!

We were both so excited when we woke up! We got ready and went downstairs to check out and print out tickets that I had bought online the night before.

That did not go as planned. It didn’t work, no matter what we tried!

Oh well, we’d figure it out when we got there!

We walked to the metro and hopped onboard!

And quickly realized we were on the wrong train. Ack!

No worries, that was quickly corrected.

And we’re here!!! The train station lets you off right at Disney Village (Downtown Disney)! Ack!! We left our luggage in lockers in the train station. It was super easy and cheap!

We didn’t think we’d make it to two parks, so Parc Disneyland was definitely our main goal.

This is where we would have stayed had we planned ahead!

We went to guest relations to figure out our ticket problem and waited and waited.

We waited 40 minutes!! It’s okay! We were pretty patient.

And finally, we were in! In Disneyland Paris!

The castle!!

I will try not to overwhelm you with exclamation points, but it’s hard. We were in Disneyland Paris!!!

I love it.

We had already picked out the rides we didn’t want to miss, time permitting.

Phantom Manor was our top priority so we went there first.

We got in line, and found there was no line!!! Well that was interesting…

We could see Big Thunder, which was under construction, from up here.

Disneyland is gearing up for its big 25th anniversary celebration, so the park actually had a lot of rides under construction. This seemed to work in our favor though. I’m guessing that (and maybe the soccer tournament) had a lot to do with the low crowds we encountered.

We loved Phantom Manor! Similar and yet different!

Next we were in search of lunch!

Every time we went up any stairs today I was hurting a little. The 15 stories the day before had killed my buns! Haha! I was fine walking, but even one stair made me whine a little. Ally was quite amused again.

Jedi burgers for lunch? Why yes, I think we will.

Coolest hamburgers ever.

Jedi training also happens in here, so it’s massive!

After our delicious lunch we headed for Space Mountain!

No real line! But so many stairs…

That was spectacular!

Hi, Stitch!

Our next must see was the castle walk through, and Maleficent of course.

The castle was just so beautiful!

Castle selfie!

I loved the overlook.

And then we found her. There are no words to describe her awesomeness.

Just wow!

The coach!

Next we wanted to see the Curious Labyrinth, and went that way!

It was pretty cute!

The view from the top!

Next up was pirates!

No time to meet Mickey!

Found it!

How do you say, “We wants the redhead” in French?

That was great!

Abu!

And those were our must dos! And it was only 1:00!! We had done all of that in two 1/2 hours! Oh my word we have time to go to other park!!!

We started walking that way when Ally said, “Mom, don’t freak out.”

I was kind of scared when I turned around until I saw what she was pointing at.

Ack!!

It wasn’t quite the same, but I was not complaining!

Ally wanted ice cream so we made our way to Main Street.

There were some critters in the wild behind us!

Hello, beautiful castle.

Ice cream!

The ice cream was Ben and Jerry’s which I found amusing.

We shopped a little on the way out of course!

And here we were! Park hopping!

We only had an hour and a half or so, so we needed to be quick!

The only thing I knew I wanted to do here was Ratatouille so we checked the waits. Shoot! 55 minutes! We decided to walk back there anyway because I knew I wanted to see it.

Hey! This looks like Paris! Or Epcot!

Wait! The single rider was only 10 minutes!! Ackkkk!!!

Ally was not thrilled with the idea of single rider, but I wasn’t taking no for an answer.

We actually walked right on! Yay!

Loved it! It was a lot like Universal rides to me, but Disney doesn’t overdo those so I was good with it.

We still had some time, so we set off to see what else we wanted to do.

Tower of Terror maybe?

Wait, there’s a Backlot Tour!

We had the whole car to ourselves!

Catastrophe Canyon!

Jeremy Irons was one of our guides, and the English was much appreciated!

We’re back in London!

Where something very bad has happened…

Oh we’re in Reign of Fire!

Made it out alive.

We decided we just had time for Tower of Terror!

And then sadly, it was time to go.

Oh shoot, I forgot there was an Armageddon attraction! I love Armageddon!

No time!

And we were out!

Goodbye, Disneyland Paris! It was a whirlwind day! But an awesome one. I am sooooooo glad we went! And amazed at how much we got done in 5 hours!

Here’s our locker in the train station:

Our luggage grew a little:

And we are back on the metro!

When we got to the train station, we had a lot of metro passes left that we didn’t end up using! We had plenty of time, so I looked for someone to give them to.

The first lady I asked if she spoke English and she said, “No” and quickly rushed away. Okay!

Next I found a man who was in line to get tickets and I asked if he spoke English. He said no as well, but he smiled apologetically.

Okay, we could make this work.

I held out my little pile of tickets and offered them to him.

His eyes got big and he said, “Oh!” Then he tried to take out his wallet, but I waved him off. He said, “Merci, Merci!” and Ally and I were on our way!

The train before ours was delayed and the station was packed!

Soon enough we were onboard in our plush train seats.

Dinner!

When we arrived, we took the Tube out to Heathrow and caught the shuttle to our hotel for the night. We were tired and fell asleep pretty quickly!

And that was the end of our awesome adventure!  Thank  you for following along!
