Day 2 – Welcome to Jamaica!

Woohoo, here we go!

After an uneventful flight, we landed in Montego Bay.  Because we were staying in an over the water bungalow, we had a private transfer from the airport.

Someone met us before customs and whisked us right through.  Heavenly!

They helped us with our bags, and we got into the waiting BMW!

BMW?  Whaaa?  We were starting this vacation in style!

There were snacks waiting for us in the car!

And water:

Royal Caribbean was a short 10 minute drive from the airport, so we barely had any time to enjoy the snacks! When we arrived, one of our butlers was waiting to take us to our bungalow and show us around.  The bungalows are on the private island, so we took a quick little boat ride over.

And here we were!

Our room was stunning! I didn’t take many outside pictures because it was overcast outside.

There was a door in the shower that went to the outdoor shower and tub. Al Fresco! It was amazing! I decided my forever home MUST have an outdoor shower.

We were in a category with a butler, which means they took care of everything we could want! It was heavenly. Before we left home, we filled out a preference sheet with our favorite foods and drinks. We let them know we don’t drink alcohol, so they stocked our fridge with soda, juice, and sparkling cider!

Cheers!

I took a video of the room the next day when it was sunnier!  Look for it in tomorrow’s trip report!

We relaxed for a little while and unpacked. Our butler would unpack for us, but we were good doing that ourselves!

We decided to go walk around a little. Leaving our bungalow!

Here’s ours!

We walked around, and by the time we got back, it was time for sunset!

We went out to our deck to watch!

It was beautiful! We changed and headed out to dinner.

All of our meals were included at any of the restaurants at the resort (or the two other Sandals nearby). A couple need reservations just because of their popularity. We didn’t go to one of them tonight, but our butler still saved us a table!

I didn’t take my camera, just my phone! I was trying to be discreet, so I only took one picture of the beautiful greenery above us.

Dinner was delicious! And we headed back to the bungalow!

Here’s some of the swim up rooms over on the mainland.

It feels a bit strange to call Jamaica the mainland, since it is, in fact, an island, but at this resort, there was the mainland (Jamaica), and the private island! The bungalows were over on the private island, so whenever we went back and forth, we caught a boat.

We went to bed and were ready for a great day tomorrow!
