Day 1 – Embarkation
The day before, I left Orlando, where I had spent an awesome week with the Ladies of Leisure!
You can read about it here.
I flew up to New York and stayed at a great Marriott in Times Square. Nothing too exciting happened, I walked around the city a little and ate pizza. That’s a good day, right?
This morning I called for a Lyft and I was off to the port!
I’m here!
This was a first for me, after 20 something cruises, this was the first time I had ever been on one alone!
I decided to eat in Cabanas for lunch.
I had ice cream after!
My room was ready soon after I finished, so I headed down. I had presents!
Here’s what was inside:
I was prepared for it to be weird to be in a room alone, but it wasn’t all bad! I had soooo many towels! Haha!
And so much space!!
We had our first meetup that afternoon, so I went to check in.
They gave us our swag:
We sat and talked for about an hour and learned our schedule for the week. We were all eating at Palo that night! Now that’s the way to kick off a cruise.
After we finished our meeting, I talked to a couple of agents for a little while and walked around and took pictures up top until sail away.
Hello, New York!
I went down to get ready for dinner after a little while.
Sailing out of NYC is the best! You can’t beat this view from your verandah!
Finally, it was dinner time! I was at a table with 7 travel agents who I didn’t know well, so I did not want to bring out my camera during dinner!
I took exactly one picture, of this loveliness:
And then it was bedtime!
We hit some serious waves that night. We were rocking and rolling!
I had to get up during the night and put my hangers on the floor so they would stop banging! I put pillows in the closet door as well, so they would stop slamming. My neighbor did not, and I wanted to knock on his door and get him to do it so I wouldn’t hear his! Ha!
