Day 3 – We Have – Beer?

Today we were in no rush to get up, we weren’t reaching our port – Bratislava, until the afternoon.

We started the day with a yummy breakfast:

We went through our first lock!  Look how close we get!

Then we had some talks by the Nat Geo experts in the lounge that morning, so we went to those. They were super interesting!

The photographer gave us iPhone photography tips, and the local expert told us about his stories as a journalist in Europe through the years. Fascinating!

It was gorgeous out today! We went for a walk up top.

Next up was lunch!

These spring rolls were amazing. We had seconds and maybe thirds?

After lunch, we went up top to watch our arrival to Bratislava.

Almost there!

Today Ally and I signed up for an excursion called “Taste of Bratislava”. The Nat Geo description said was a tour with local foods and delicacies.

Well, we didn’t realize until we saw the Daily Cruiser that it was actually a beer tour! Beer! Wut?

If you know me, you know I’m a lifelong teetotaler. Beer does not fit into that. Ha!

That was okay, we would still have fun. Our tour started with a walk through downtown. Bratislava was a beautiful little town! And the walk was a good way to preview what we wanted to go back and see later.

Award winning gelato? Definitely going back there!

The beer tasting was pretty funny. There were 7 women and one man, and 6 of us didn’t realize it was a beer tasting! We did have some cheese, bread, and sausage at least!

The man in our group ended up with a WHOLE lot of beer when he said he would take any we didn’t want. Lucky him?

After we finished, Ally and I walked around. My first stop was McDonald’s for a Coke! Woohoo! Then we got some gelato and did some souvenir shopping.

It was a really cute town!

After a while, we headed back to the ship and napped a little before dinner.

Dinner was great, but we ate with someone, so no pictures!

We went and sat up top for the sail away from Bratislava. The lights were beautiful!

In the room, I rechecked our sign-up sheet. Nope! No beer is mentioned!

Food tour! Food!

Then it was time for bed! Tomorrow’s Daily Cruiser:
