Day 1 – This Place is Amazing!
Okay, it’s time! I left super early in the morning, and I had an empty seat next to me! Woohoo!
All the better to sleep with…
And we’re here! Hello, Barbados!
Sandals is about a 5-minute ride from the airport. I breezed through customs and boarded the shuttle.
When we go for training, we never know what room category we will be in. I’ve always been in standard rooms, which was fine! Just happy to be there!
When we got off the shuttle this time, they took most of us to the Sandals Club lounge to check in.
There was some confusion with my reservation, they kept bringing me more devices to check in on, even after I’d done it.
Finally, someone said, “Oh you have a butler! We need to take you right to your room!”
I said, “Are you sure?”
They didn’t seem sure, but they said yes. Haha!
So they started walking me to my room. I was 95% positive that this was a mistake, so I didn’t get my hopes up. He showed me all over the room, and I was still thinking they were going to call any minute and say it was a mistake.
Then he left and I saw a letter on the table welcoming me! By name! Woohoo!
Now I could get excited!
LOOK AT THIS BEAUTIFUL ROOM! Here’s my balcony!
Living room!
TV:
And look at this tub. Just look at it.
So yes, I had two tubs. Have mercy.
Bedroom!
This was my view:
I had champagne in my room! Didn’t need that, nope!
Normally when you have a butler, you fill out a preference sheet before you arrive. When we went to the Royal Caribbean Sandals resort in Jamaica, we filled one out and had all the alcohol replaced with sparkling cider and our fridge was fully stocked with Coke products! Since I had no idea I had a butler this time, that didn’t happen!
But they can accommodate most things on the fly!
Chocolate was also in my room. That I could use!
After I basked in my room, I realized it was almost time for the total eclipse!
Barbados was low in the eclipse percentage, (like 60%? I think?) but I wanted to go see what I could see.
I was like the only person outside! I was beginning to wonder if I was the only person that cared! It was super overcast though, couldn’t see much!
Oh well! I got some ice cream!
After a little while I started to get ready for our dinner reception. Jenell came in shortly before hand and we caught up! Then we went to the reception and met all the other agents.
I didn’t see my butler when I arrived because of the confusion with my room. Then that night I missed them since we were at the reception. I’m sure I would see them tomorrow!
We ended the night in the hot tub! Training day tomorrow!
